as in this post, is it possible warlock can be a heritage class/ like can they inherit their dark powers or does every single warlock have to make a pact ?

do they technically need to know they're making a pact or could some seemingly random stranger be a demon/devil in disguise and trick them into what would be a seemingly non-sense agreement... like some bum off the street, and that forms the pact..

idk, but I think warlocks need some clarification for a few people..

I personally do not know where they come into lore.. or anything about them.. but Ive always defended anyones right to play a character as they dreamt up...

so whats the deal with warlock Arkanis ?
This is what the NWN Wiki says about Warlock

"Born of a supernatural bloodline, a Warlock seeks to master the perilous magic that suffuses his soul. Unlike Sorcerers and Wizards, who approach arcane magic through the medium of spells, a Warlock invokes powerful magic through nothing more than an effort of will. The font of dark magic burning in their souls makes them resistant to many forms of attack and arms them with dangerous power. Warlocks learn to harness their power to perform a small number of specific attacks and tricks called invocations. Warlocks make up for their lack of versatility by being tougher and more resilient than sorcerers or wizards. By harnessing his innate magical gift through fearsome determination and willpower, a Warlock can perform feats of supernatural stealth, beguile the weak-minded, or scour his foes with blasts of Eldritch power."

I need to do more server-lore research to give more of an answer as to our interpretations.

Unfortunately I need to write a lot of formulae to show you the solution and I don't have that kind of font installed on my computer. Anyone wanting to see the mathematical equation that shows the equation for the hydrogen atom or the two-electron atoms or ions can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger_equation and scroll about 2/3 of the way down to see it written out.

"The word "love" can have a variety of related but distinct meanings in different contexts. Often, other languages use multiple words to express some of the different concepts that English relies mainly on "love" to encapsulate; one example is the plurality of Greek words for "love." " In Greek there are three different words for "love"

1. Eros, or physical expressions of love
2. Philos, or brotherly love (the love you have for friends and family)
3. Agape, or transcended love (like a mother has for her child or in a religious context, that God has for people)

Love does not apply to things like food - "I love Big Macs" is lust, not love and we confuse the two words all of the time. There may also be an emotional connection to eating a Big Mac as well, i.e. my Mom used to take me for Big Macs on payday, but it too is not love; you love your mother and the association of eating the Big Mac reminds you of her... Love gets mixed up with things like lust, greed, envy, etc.

I believe your definition of love depends on who you are:

1. Priestess of Sune - *everyone roll CHA check for me* lovers, artists - favoured weapon, whip... <<ahem>>
2. Palidon of Ilmater - "suffering is the path to love - please sir, may I have another!"
3. Druid - "I love you" *hugs friend* "I hate you" *punches freind*.... BALANCE maintained
4. The gambler at the dice table both loves and hates Tymora, but never says anything about hate...
5. Zhent - "What would make you think that I love something...?" *looks around*
6. Screaming Llothite Drow Priestess - "WHO SAID LOVE???" *whips random slave*
7. The look in a Dwarf's eye when you mention: ale/beer/lager/mead/bashing Orcs/listening to bad bagpipe music/a new axe/long lost kinfolk/fighting each other for no reason/mining for ore and gems/singing bawdy drinking songs/bar fights/ale/beer/lager...
8. Surface Elves - will recite unintelligible poetry for three days, sing a dirge, lie prone for hours for no apparent reason, explain the properties of the colour "yellow" and sleep with his neighbours wife in an effort to educate the dull-witted non-Elf on what love really is. In the end, the Elf will give up and focus on witty, deep, acrid barbs/jests towards the less-intelligent non-elf creatures he chooses to lower himself to associate with. Other Elves understand this implicitly and therefore there is no need to talk about love with each other.
9. Wizards love magic, because magic is power, and power is control, and control is like the guy who learns to play the guitar and discovers POOF! "hey man I can also sing and write songs !" (even though he can't sing a note and his songs are all sold to Nickleback) and then the wizard, in infinite control, seeks out a drcolich, blasts it so it has 4ph left and then monologues just long enough for the undead dragon to cast Dispel Magic on him, and eat him.
10. Gnomes love cookies. Inexplicable.

Awsome, thanks for the clarification, it seems many were unsure what is acceptable and what is not... when it came to bloodlines and warlocks... your answer seems less restrictive but at the same time within lore. +1 to Arkanis :P

Q: Arkanis, could you tell us abit about Baldursgate current daily going on's.

WHO is WHO in the gate, which noble families have influence this season, what is their agenda, what are the common wageslaves doing and think about on average day to day . . .

I ask, for a small intro to BG city RP. Where would you , as a player, and DM of note with the resources you have access to, suggest on starting to RP inside the gate itself, and get involved in the political intrigue(or turmoil muahahah) of the daily going ons ...

Where would you start... would we for instance, learn what factions/parties have business, and their ideals, and look for something there, that is in our PCs interest, or just carve something out form nowhere ourselves, and take initiative. Would taking a backseat to watching the daily going on's be best for a new comer ? Or not, and why.

There's a thread about City RP, and I think its a brilliant move, if it can happen, and I go into lengths on why, but could never properly sum it up in a few words how awesome I believe the idea is...

what I'm hoping, is can someone like you, point us in the right direction, as a community, and how to start. im sure plenty people would be interested, and there's many Pro's aside from Con's IMO.

I know of a subway stop in Toronto where they have a lever on the wall that you can pull... there are chimes all over the tunnel, and the more you pull the lever the more chimes will sound. It is pretty cool.

In Ottawa we have an ad company that will decorate our bus shelters up for their clients, and sometimes they are pretty cool - one shelter became a theater with velvet curtain and theater seats (the shelter is 5'x10' or so...)

Up here we are also known to have heated shelters, and the janitorial staff have cleaning spray for glass that is anti-fog. If we get enough snow, kids will build slides off the top of the roof of a bus shelter too so that they have something to do while waiting for their bus.

OK take a look here for background information

There is a ton of things that can be RPed from small, stand alone adventures with 2-3 players, to a major plot event. There would be some preparation needed, and of course mini events tend to turn into larger ones if you are in an area where there are other players too. The "political intrigue" in the city can vary significantly (Dukes, Fist, thieves guild, Zhents, Harpers, etc) so if you have a more specific request after looking through the forum page, let me know via PM.
