Underdark immersion on the surface
I was curious of any tips for any drow attempting to blend in on the surface and immerse themselves in rp =) My character travels to the surface for trade/rp and sometimes offers services and such. I am merely looking for any advice on how to meet up and rp with others on the surface while keeping my identity a secret =P

Re: Underdark immersion on the surface
start the RP before hitting the surface... find someone who knows the surface to escort you around, be your buddy of sorts..
Or, bump into players at the Fire pit near the bridge or inside the cloakwood...
I wouldn't go to FAI without having more knowledge of who is who..
avoid Naskel/Bereghost/The Gate..
you can always sneak around the gates of Bereghost...

Wait... Blend in and immerse themselves in pvp? That doesn't go hand in hand.

Re: Underdark immersion on the surface
remember your kill on sight on the surface, no pvp out required. and some people will meta game that which is annoying.
cover everything up.......bio info etc...to lower your chances of getting metagame
I once captured a drow and was going to turn it over to the flaming fist, 6 people followed the group and still people attempted to kill the drow with 3 paladins around it and it was bound and gaged
definitely get some friends up above, so they can at least call out a meta game if they see it......
else you have to run all the way back up...

Remember, if you decide to RP on the surface, be careful in Cloakwood, where the lizards will announce your race to everyone.

Please, just stay in the Underdark, and that goes to all drow.

Re: Underdark immersion on the surface
You will have to have a specific reason for coming up and it has to be specific and direct. Otherwise, a DM may question your presence as soon as they discover you or complaints are being lodged of your presence on the surface.
If you do not have any specific reason why your character would just be roaming around in an extremely hostile and prejudicial environment you will be ported back to your home environment.
Reasons like exploring are not specific enough for a UD race to trek MONTHS to the surface, suffer the pain of sun exposure, and conceal themselves at all times shunning all contact for fear of being murdered on the spot.
It's basically the equivalent of a foreigner trying to enter an extremely hostile country illegally; chances are you will be tried as a spy our a dissident and served an unreasonable term of incarceration if you live long enough to receive a trial.

Then follow Void's suggestion and come above with your duergar.Chexss wrote:Pffft!!! Appreciate us ;D ^.^ Tho I have aduergar as well
You will have easier time 'blending in' - not to mention you will be detached of all previous "drow on surface" incidents and complaints. When people complaint about UD races being on the surface, those complaints are almost entirely about the drow.
