How exactly is the relationship between a shadowdancer and his/her shadow?

Summon Shadow
A shadowdancer can call upon a shadow, which becomes much like a druid's companion. The shadow shares the shadowdancer's alignment. As the shadowdancer becomes more powerful, his shadow companion likewise becomes a more potent force.

I believe this was a request to elaborate more on that bond 'like a druid's companion'.

Also remember that the Shadow Dancer taps in to "Shadow Magic" which is tied in to the shadow plane and has nothing to do with "Shadow Weave".

Also fun fact about shadow magic

It should also be noted that silver fire is composed of pure Weave magic energy, thus the clashing of silver fire with pure Shadow Magic will cause the multiverse to unravel itself, tearing the fabric of the world, causing huge dimensional rifts between the planes
