The Pureblood Society

A group of anti-tiefling fanatics has become active along the Sword Coast, proclaiming doom if tieflings are not cast out society. Concentrated around Nashkel and Beregost, recent events in the area have drawn many unlikely people to their banners, flocking around the 'prophet' known only as Father. While peaceful thus far, the risk of violence is evident, only waiting for a spark to set it off.

Where There's Smoke

A house fire near the Temple of Tyr in Baldur's Gate threatened to spread to neighboring structures, despite the slightly ironic efforts of the Flaming Fist to contain the flames. Thankfully, a group of adventurers rushed to the scene, lending a hand by entering the flaming structure to rescue a boy trapped inside, while a mage from the nearby Thayan Enclave helped to keep the flames in check.

Trouble in Nashkel

Followers of The Father were active in Nashkel again recently, listening to their leader preach outside the Temple of Helm. A sizable crowd grew around the gathering, including followers of Auril, who attempted to sway some of the gathered to their cause. Soon after, things came near to violence when Thedran Rock arrived and physically restrained a young girl who was intent on joining the Aurilities. Drawing his sword, Thedran came close to combat with the city guard, before a priest of a Helm and an Amnish officer managed to calm him down and get him to release the girl, who disappeared into the night.

Nearby, The Father watched as his crowd was dispersed, muttering something about a coming sign before disappearing into the night.

An Excavation in Soubar

A strange caravan wandered into Soubar recently, made up of several gnomes and dwarves. In particular, they transported a large machine fashioned with many blades. Soon enough, their purpose became clear: searching for ancient Banite ruins beneath the surface of the crossroads.

With several adventurers accompanying, they headed down into the depths, not knowing that amongst their party were several Banites. Though the exact happenings were hidden from the eyes of most onlookers, two of the adventurers soon returned to the surface, and later one of them was seen to be dragged out in a most frightful condition. More worrisome still, he was found hanged outside the city, and at the same time the caravan itself was said to have disappeared from the scene...
