Hey every one I had a question about this issue.
I've been playing on this server before, just under another account which I lost.
But never had problems with the loading times, with the same rig.
They where 20 seconds tops.
Got a
2600k i7 overlocked 4.7
8gig ram
580GTX and using the latest nvidia drivers
SSD disc but the issue occurs as well on my normal HD disk.
Windows 7 64bit
160Mb/s cable connection from the Netherlands.
Here is the catch , I load for 2 to 3 minutes regardless of the zone.
The load bar fills up in 5 to 10 seconds than the wait time kicks in.
Even in a small cave it's taking this long.
I tried putting the graphics down (like all shadows off) and it doesn't matter.
Tried putting CPU 1 off and still nothing.
What I would like to ask is if there is an specific update I miss or a little tweak that helps with the loading times these days.
I'm currently reinstalling the game and redownloading the haks to see if this is the case.
I'm out of ideas, unless this is normal these days.
But from my own experience a year ago it was all fine.
Anyway glad to be back and I hope there is a way around it.

Re: Loading Times
Hard to say.
Maybe some packet loss or something and the game is having a hard time syncing you into the map?
Did you try to search google for the issue? Like google nwn2 long load times or something like that.

Re: Loading Times
Yeah I've been looking for quite some time but most advices are to decrease loading times.
But it doesn't look like it has loading issues since offline the problem is absent.
I've tried something called Leantrix_Latency fix but it doesn't help for nwn2.
When I ping the server I don't see any package loss, but that's different then actually playing.
About done with the reinstalling the game and downloading the patches so going to try that and perhaps a format of it fails.
Though I've done that 1 month ago.
But at this point it looks like the only plausible option since I didn't had this issue before.

Re: Loading Times
Do you get any random lag spikes while playing?

Re: Loading Times
Not more than I used to have which was usually happening during an event or when the server had cramp.
But once in a while I have a small spike for a second, but well not used to anything different.
The only time I had issues was during events with lots of spam , but that has always been like that.
Still downloading for the fresh reinstall and going to try to put my old splitter back, that was the only thing I remember using a year ago.

Re: Loading Times
First I ran it with out after it I did it with and aside from logging in faster it doesn't seem to improve much.
Using direct connect.
Last 750 mb to go,just doing it manually since it goes a lot faster.
Thanks btw for helping out, just running through some options and see if I get it to work.

Re: Loading Times
Yesterday evening during that Performers event near BG i had also awful long (over a minute) transition times.
And yeah got lagspikes quite often, sometimes 10 or more players comments popped up at the same time.
Server was full and one and two events ongoing do that nowadays again
(Perhaps it's time to update the server hardware again.

Re: Loading Times
Aside from the solution being some what time consuming it seems to have worked.
Got rid of NWN2 and just reinstalled and dled everything.
For now it seems to be all fine.
