A man wearing a black robe of mourning, known by some to be a cleric of Ilmater known as Ameris Santraeger, arrives by boat to Baldur's Gate. He bears the unconscious body of a knight, clad in blackened and charred armour, with a twisted heavy gauntlet still on his wrist. Some would know this knight as Alexander Marshall.

They head to the Sanctuary of Ilmater.

Hinzel takes sure measured steps as he walks through the Gate, heading for Gond's temple. There, he looks around, unsure of what to do, and closes his eyes in making a crude prayer to Gond and Glittergold. After a minute or two, he gets up and walks out of the temple. His eyes drooping, he squeezes his right thigh a little and rubs his eyes.

*a few posters are put up in the taverns and on the notice boards of the city of Baldur's Gate*

WARNING

The man known as Faberge is an admitted necromancer and attempted torturer and murderer of a member of the Lathanderite clergy who tried to oppose his summonings in the mines deep inside the Cloakwood. He has admitted his criminality before Brother Ameris Santraeger of the Radiant Heart and Maelir Ostirel, Councillor of Doran Amar and captain of the Whistling Wanderess.

He is a dangerous mage, and should be considered armed at all times.

The man appears as follows:

In his early 30's, of average height, with black frosted partially dreadlocked hair and a pale complexion. He is often seen in improvised, exotic garments of grey and pale red, with the skull of some creature on one shoulder, and a branch on his left.

He is fond of wine, and sarcasm.

Signed

Brother Ameris Santraeger
Cleric of Ilmater
Order of the Radiant Heart
Vadim Morozov, Dreadmaster.

Katarina can be seen walking back and forth from the various churches of the Triad and the Radiant Heart Chapter house, her head hung low her expression concerned...when people have addressed her she does not immediately reply as if lost deep in thought.

A group of adventurers escorting a mage known as Faberge could be seen making the long trek from the Friendly Arms Inn, towards Baldur's Gate. With the length of the trip, and escape attempts thwarted, rumor has it that the mage Faberge had escaped the custody of Alexander Marshall within Baldur's Gate, eluding the attempted arrest. Alexander was later seen heading to the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse.

Rumor has it that a little known man has been regularly visiting the Elfsong Tavern, speaking to a select few about allegiances, whereabouts, merchant businesses...conversations of curiosity, it is said. The man also has been speaking to a few about some esoteric "lanceboard" construction he is building.

The rumor gets passed on here and there within the East District because the man is also paying the tab at the tavern, for those that humor his curiosity. As free libations are no small thing, some further the rumors about this man by stating they've also seen him traveling to the Palace District, from time to time

A man sat for many hours upon a bench, in the East District, enjoying the free performance.

After the posters are posted across the city, a one-eyed man is overheard at the Elfsong telling tales about how the Theater Director, Harpo Hands, and his assistant Penelope, run a rather draconian production. If his stories are to be believed, the troupe is known to remove fingers from actors who miss their rehearsals.

Pausing to take a drink from his half-empty ale, the black-armored man confides that on his last visit to the theater, the actors wanted to light him on fire--then one of the half-elves wanted to stab him with a knife!

All the same, the one-eyed man claims he will be there for the opening night (and that he will be seated at a seat of great honor).

A scene in the Elfsong Tavern:

"Hendrick!," the tactician calls out from near the bar at the Elfsong Tavern. The one he seems to be addressing—at volume and nearly across the whole of the tavern—most likely named Hendrick, is seated at a table, scribing a number of what appear to be...posters, in dutiful script. "Come along my goodman...we have work to do and positions to fill!"

The loudness in Naeus' voice could easily be attributed to the near-empty stein that rests in a closed fist.

The one known as Hendrick is later seen handing a neatly rolled bundle of parchments and a bag of silver pieces to a young lad, providing him with tediously meticulous instructions on whom they are to be distributed. He subsequently stalks off, sporadically bemoaning the missing state of his eye-glasses.

Copies of "An Amnish perspective on Monarchy" have begun circulating among the literate lower classes of Baldur's Gate and surrounding areas. Cheap copies of the book are being distibiuted every day at taverns, inns and market places. Lucky people find copies abandoned on bars, benches and tables.

The Flaming Fists have not yet acted on the circulations, despite the inflammatory and anti-authoritan material it broaches. Upon carefull review the book only pretends to be a work of lore and is actually a political manifesto.

When asked, the proprietor of the Shelf of Many books admits possessing some copies, purchased from Lannacet publishing. It just so happens that the Amnish Justian Lannacet has recently arrived in the City and is selling them on behalf of the Lannecet group, she adds.

A lewd text has also been smeared on the walls of the Palace District, decrying the tyranny of the Dukes and the ire of the enslaved people.

The dimunative gnome with a big name may have been noticed upon his arrival to the city in the past tenday. With his large smile hidden under his even larger nose, stroking a waxed and pointed beard, and wearing a most motley assortment of clothing, he has been seen visiting the Temple of the Wonderbringer as well as looking for any vacant building or wharehouse near the docks.

He is heard introducing himself as Wizzelbert Cranksproket, and if any further inspection is made he seems to be missing both of his eyebrows as well as some of the hair from the side of his head. His clothing is lined with pockets of all sizes holding sprockets, pulleys, and all sorts of odd mechanical odds and ends, as well as picks, tools, and different gauges of wire.

Wizzelbert, or Bert as he sometimes prefers, has proven to be quite eccentric thus far and may draw small groups of onlookers when providing gifts of ‘Wizzelbert’s Waddlers’ to a few small children in passing, demonstrating his ‘Opticificating Igniterator’, or the ‘Whirligig’ tent. It seems he has an overly complicated, minimally useful contraption for just about anything.

For the time being, he stays at the Blade and Stars in an overly cramped room, filled with crates, boxes, and other gear he arrived to town with.

-----
Opticificating Igniterator – a small cube covered in mirrors and lenses, used to focus sunlight to start fires.

Whirligig Tent – what appears to be a long bundle of hinges, gears and poles surrounding a golden canvas, with the release of a spring lock it will pop into an instant faire tent, which is easily hand cranked back into a more portable form.

Wizzelbert’s Waddlers - A number of small key-cranked children’s toys that waddle when released.
