*Elril Returns to the Radiant Heart and opens his journal*

My patrols were quiet until I come across a large group of adventures threatening a bugbear. After I moved closer I recognized the bugbear as the one and only boogie. Ever since he left his tribe Boogie has been on the run. I have sought help from the local druids to find a place for him but his wanderlust cannot be contained.

I intervene in the matter and explain that Boogie was under my protection. This quieted a few of the adventurers, some elves mock me but I didn't let it deter me. On closer inspection of my surrounding there numerous undead that had been destroyed by this band of adventurers. Then Boogie mention some necromancer that I've had been investigating for some time.

The necromancer has been sighted numerous time in the cloak wood, conducting numerous experiential of matching odd body parts together from many creatures. I ask Boogie if this was one and the same.

Then boogie continued on explaining that this necromancer was searching for a ring. One the adventurers explain that a curse ring was recently found near bereghost. A person named **** was in possession of it.

After some conversation, Boogie said he knew where the necromancer was some place called the Ulcaster ruins. Though I did not wish boogie to go he said he would lead us to that place.

Upon arrival at the ruins, there was an ominous mist. I couldn't make out exactly what it was. Then that same deep mocking voice came from the void asking if we had the ring. After some taunts by a large elf, the voice eventually grew bored and withdrew from wherever it came from.

After the mist subsided, The adventuring band started to discuses what should be done, I ask them to if they found **** they should bring him to the Radiant Heart Chapter house until this necromancer was put down.

A few agreed and I pray to Sune that they or us find this ****, else tragedy shall surely befall the sword coast .

Signed

*An old man sits by the ocean with a fishing rod planted into the sand while he rubs his sore swollen feet with one hand and scribbles down some notes between other mad ramblings in the decaying tome he might call a journal/daily planner*

IMPORTANT REMINDER - must head to Candlekeep
After the days odd and somewhat troubling events you should head to Candlekeep, they have vast resources that will help you determine the origin of the relic and potentially how to break the curse for good and even teach you a thing or two.

IMPORTANT
The relic is contained in the blessed chalice in your pack. Do not remove the lid, the liquid is holy water. If you remove it from the chalice you will become ill again.

*The old man's scribble begins to lose focus*

Must eat more fish otherwise your joints will swell up
Young people always want to bash their problems

*The old man's scribble becomes seemingly completely random dribble, with mixed languages and seemingly made up words*

*Four lonely artic dwarves are seen in baldur's gate, the flaming fist quickly surround them as they refuse to relinquish there arms. After a moment the elder calms the other three dwarven warriors. They continue on into the city stopping at various shops along the way collecting odd materials before heading south to nashkel. What plans these oddly small, white skined dwarves Have is unkown... though they seem to be on a mission of great importance and simply ignore the requests of travelers along there path south.*

"Side note" *boogie has not appeared in some time, his helpful appeances have stopped leaving many whom know him to wonder... where is boogie? In his last appearance he spoke of scouting south into the cloudpeak mountains and has yet to return.*

Za'than hears the rumors of the Arctic dwarves, and instantly recognizes them from the past events; in which they were invaded by both the Tana'ri Balrog and later the Ice Giants. Curious to what these heartened warriors of the cold might be doing so far north, he sets out to gather an expedition to their encampment far into the snowy peaks.

The Old man, now identified as Victor by Bazu himself amongst a crowd of unknown adventurers can no longer hide and use misdirection while he determines the powers used to create such a ring. A brave few have offered protection and council in regards to the matter.

Victor passes the time while he waits for word, studying, examining and theorising on how this curse could be reversed and broken. While through previous testing conventional means of dealing with cursed items have been unsuccessful, they have reduced the effects slightly for a short period of time. Victor theorises that the magic used was to powerful for any one man/woman to break and a ritual will need to be performed with multiple participants. He is certain only of one thing, that those participating in the ritual would likely be risking much as Bazu would almost certainly be aware of the ritual.

Victor starts planning out the Ritual plans

Akkarin sat in relative silence, watching the reaction proceed. The titration process would be over soon and then he would know the power concealed within the blood. It was the last piece of the puzzle he required in order to begin preparation for the ritual he and the warlock had theorized.

The events that had unfolded just a few nights ago replayed in his mind - the confrontation of the Lich, whom Za'than had named Bazu, and the subsequent mock challenge by this Thedran. It had all been a ploy, to draw out this particular warrior, to make him drop his guard, followed by the utter chaos that ensued afterwards as undead forces plowed through every holy warrior of the Sword Coast. What did the creature win by this? There was the blow to morale, of course, the loss of being powerless against superior forces, and watching your companions taken away before your eyes. Some, however, had speculated that the Lich would attempt to force the Warrior to take his side.

The warrior lost was one thing, however. While a defeat was suffered, it was not an unimportant night. If there is one thing he had learned while walking the Sword Coast, it was the impenetrable arrogance permeating every self-proclaimed adventurer - ranging from noble knights, wise druids to buddling necromancers. It was a trait they all shared, and an ugly one at that. It had nearly cost them all their lives this night, when believing themselves superior even against overwhelming forces. This defeat had been very-much-needed reminder of their own mortality, hopefully forcing them to actually think the next time.

Nothing is so bad it isn't good for something, his father had always said, and perhaps that little reminder was the victory this night.

The titration was going slow now. Any further drop of the dissipation agent would react with what remained of the blood in the apparatus, thus effectively removing what remained of it, and react with the colouring agent instead, turning the concoction blue. The capacity of weave manipulation within the blood would be quantized and he should be able to proceed his calculations.

Perhaps it was a fool's errand, to attempt circumventing the wards of an ancient Lich through magic powered by blood - the blood of a would-be hero who would have everything revealed, should it succeed, furthermore - but proving that even an ancient Lich is faulty, just another mage playing by the same rules as the rest of us, give or take a few milennia, was a worthwhile mission, and worthy taking a bit of heat over. If it meant that he could steal back this Thedran too, that would count as the proverbial kick in the undead nuts. Not an entirely unwelcome thought.

*Elril awakes from a cold sweat in the chapterhouse, the feeling of negative energy pulsating at the edge of is conscious. He hears the movement in the distance, fully awake he stumbles to his closet and adorns his armor*

*As soon as steps outside his room, a guard informs him that Katrina has gone north to investigate something regarding bazu. Elril grabs his sword and heads north*

*he reaches the fields of the dead and it looks as if an army of men have been trudging through the dirt, He follows the trail until he reaches a large crypt he ventured in*

Elril came across a large company of men and women with swords drawn in tightness of the tomb, battling undead in the front, he search for any sight of katrina. Then a child appeared out of the darkness, she was controlling the undead sending them after the group. A child playing with the only toy she has had for a countless ages.

*Elril records the rest within the Order of the Radiant Hearts Chapter house upon his return*

The group seem bent on destroy some magical control devices, and what i gathered they were for controlling the undead. The group destroyed a few a of the devices. Then finally the child came back from the gloom. She was quite angry that the group destroyed her toys. The spirit caller of the order of the silver rose casted a few spirit spells or what it seem like. The girl still did not notice us. She was distraught over the loss of her toys. Many of the group keep speaking to the girl be she would not listen. Asking the girl if she knew were her siblings were, over and over again. Seeking to gain knowledge against bazu.

I could hold my tongue no longer, This was a poor innocent child tormented for her fathers sins. I ask the girl a simple question. Would you like to know the truth? She trained her eyes directly towards me.

I told the spirit of the girl about her mothers death, and reminded her of how sick she was before. I believe this forced something into the spirit because she took an awareness of her surrounding. She ask where she was, what she was doing?

I felt hope that we would release her spirit if only we could get to lathender light so she could be with her mother once again. Her spirit was originally bound for a good intention but the use of necromancy corrupts all and this poor girl was a victim..

But my hope died when members of the group started to assault the spirit with questions regarding her siblings, her father. They were bringing up painful memories enraging the poor girl.

I tired to get Sister Katrina to take the girl outside the keep, but the questions keep coming.

I could only think to myself, This poor girl has suffered enough, trapped in cage for an eternity why do these people keep demanding answers from the spirit of this child..........take her into the light let her be free and let her return to her mother...

The questions continued until the spirit was so distraught by the questions that it attacked. I attempted to back away, but the group of adventures swarmed and slayed the spirit.

I knew right then that I failed this girl, her spirit most likely being sent to wherever her father resides. She did not get redeemed her spirit was not freed....

The adventurer applauded each other and I felt only pain in my heart....

I Pray to Sune, That I am wrong....

*A long battle took place just a tenday ago, the warriors of many orders can be seen dragging there feet as the soil of baldur's gate farmlands rests under there feet. A victory has been achieved, and Bazu's power weakened, the once powerful barriers around his domain begin to fade, and His once obedient undead Become mindless and unruly walking around aimlessly without direction. Is this a result of a power source being destroyed? Or is Bazu's remaining energy being spent elsewhere? This is yet to be known.
