Playing a Cook

Unread post by Scarth »

I have a really bad tendency to jump around alot of different characters without much direction, hence why I'm constantly asking for help.

I'm going to make a Gnome Fighter that uses a Handaxe and a Buckler, but I was going to theme him around being a master chef. Apart from maybe having a backpack and maybe carrying a dagger-cooking knife, is there anything else I could do to represent this?

His name is to be Rogg Longladle. Props if that means anything to you.

You've got a club you can switch to a cooking pan if I remember right.

The club sounds cool, I'll pick one of those up. And I completely forgot about the spoons! Thanks for that reminder. I like the rolling pin too.

Club has the frying pan and rolling pin appearances.
Hand axe has the meat cleaver and hatchet (hard to cook without a fire) appearances.

the VFX covers a spoon, maybe some light weapon does to. Ask Paws.

Sadly I have not found a proper chef (nor smith or farmer) costume in the armor appearances.
I was exploring an orken priest of Luthic who was a chef but the toon never took flight.

Then there are the new placable props, id say at least the spit and fruit basket would be handy.
Just try to stay clear of druids when you use the spit, some of them might have strong opinions on gaming.

Looking forward to his culinary achievements, I think.

Thanks there guys. I ended up making him a Gnome as he's based on a Mole; similar sizes and technical expertise. I picked up 2 clubs, one for Frying Pan and one for Rolling Pin. I need to get ahold of a spook and maybe some other cutlery or something. I might pick up an extra handaxe to act as a meat cleaver, am currently using a Woodcutting Hatchet as my main weapon.

I'll probably take Craft Alchemy, and maybe Master Alchemist when its available. Goes well with the Keen Smell and it's the closest to Craft Food.

And I'll be sure to pick up some placable props. Thanks for the info, I hadn't looked into them before.

Spoons and tankards can be bought in BG at Lucky Aello's. In some places, guards will react to you equipping them, so they are also available as props in PC tools.

The Temple of Ilmater in BG and the street merchant in Beregost sell food like items (fruit, soup, cheese etc). You can re-name items with the DMFI tool. For example cure critical wounds potions could be called something else. Works for scrolls too and pretty much everything else.
