Cal sat down at the table, swirled his wine glass, and stared over at the familiar face. He watched as the shadow dancer, Nawiel, became slightly startled at his sudden appearance. The Jalil seemed on edge and was favoring a bandaged arm. The two exchanged greetings, but not soon after Cal found the table occupied by several others; The Jaluk Sussuri, the Duergar Diri, and the Genasi Go Rok. The faern became quite and observed the newly gathered crowd. It did not take long before Cal was brought into the conversation
The group seemed agitated by something and wished to speak with Cal. The faern offered a private location for conversation, but the group declined the location when they heard it was outside of the city. The secrecy and concern the group was taking intrigued the faern and he accepted their request to move to another location.
The group went inside the School of Mages to speak. Cal openly mocked their decision to speak inside the school, as secrets are difficult when the walls are likely enchanted with divination. The group met none the less inside the school and Cal was informed on the situation.
Cal was told about an Alufiend causing trouble inside the city. The fiend was a result of a portal that was opened inside the Temple of Lolth (To Cal's Knowledge). Nawiel had become a target of the fiend, the motives unknown, or not given to Cal. Including an open assault inside the city, hence explaining the mystery of the injured shadow dancer's arm. The fiend also was openly casting magic inside the city, a concern the faern noted.
The group then explained their need for the faern's assistance. They were requesting a divination be done. A scry to find and determine the location of the Alufiend. The faern was to be contracted in this effort as a liaison. An interesting proposition that the faern pondered. The chance to battle wits with a fiend and perhaps interrogation greatly intrigued him. The faern accepted the job and signed the contract.
The faern asked for a description of the fiend and any possessions or any physical parts of the fiend. Cal was given a detailed description and a bag of angel feathers, a bag once in possession of the fiend. Cal instructed the group that he will do this Divination alone, as their presence would only be a distraction. The faern is no fool, however, and will have his undead servant as a guard. ((A talkative vampire will most likely be a distraction
