Re: Oaken Resilience for a shifter druid?
I use it on my druid..(lvl 19). However not being able to cast it while in forms sucks sometimes..but it is nice for just the 10 minutes...when in humanoid form...I focus on shifting and I have some focus feats for spells. I also fight outside of forms plenty of times. I find there's note rp. Also a reason I got zen archery. But everyone plays theirs different. Overall a pretty well rounded feat.

You don't lose Greater Magic Fang or Jagged Tooth from shapeshifting. Only flame weapon get's borked I believe, if that's even the case. I think you may be thinking of the bug that makes shapes flicker, like from the troll hides quest.Nomster wrote:If you are using Jagged Tooth, Greater Magic Fang and Flame Weapon and unshift, you have to reapply these buffs each time. So if you want to use Oaken Resilience and unshift every 10 mins, keep that in mind. All the other buffs still stay, its just those that don't.
I think some shapes have some immunities. I'd probably say something wrong if I guessed which those were...

I agree same reason I have Zen and Oaken on my druid(now 14). Sometimes its fun playing a non-shifter in grps and for the roleplaying(although I have alot of fun rp'n while shifted)

It is fun to RP out of form..offers a different aspect of it imo.Weylin wrote:Chexss wrote:I use it on my druid..(lvl 19). Re: Oaken Resilience for a shifter druid?
Testing an elemental shape druid and it does seem that they are crit immune without oaken resilience, but the drow weaponmasters on Jeg's seem to be bugged and crit on most crit immune things including pale masters, iron body and elemental shape. However oaken resilience and stone body do work against the drow weaponmasters on Jeg's.
In elemental form it never says there is a crit, but the drow weaponmasters still multiply damage even though no "Critical Hit!" pops up. (Combat log also does not say critical hit)
If anyone has been hit with a crit in the actual game while in elemental form I'd love to hear about it, but it would be hard to notice without "Critical Hit!" popping up.

Yeah, Elemental form is definitely *supposed* to be crit immune. Still, if you are hit by multiplied damage on a confirmed threat roll, even if it doesn't say "critical hit", you are really crit immune in name only.
Name only is enough for RP, except when the scythe-WM-FB clone hits you for 300 without a "critical hit." I suppose you could, if you're still alive, pretend they didn't really hit you that hard...
But I haven't tested it IG... I'll find out with this druid I'm making.
Oaken Resilience hasn't bugged in Jegs. If there are certain mobs where elemental form crit immunity is buggy IG, oaken resilience might work.

I play a Druid IG and I don't get 'critted'. Ever. Elemental shape is crit-immune. As is Dragon shape btw.

Are you sure about Dragonshape being Crit immune? I believe it's only sneak immune and not both.AC81 wrote:I play a Druid IG and I don't get 'critted'. Ever. Elemental shape is crit-immune. As is Dragon shape btw.

Dragons are not crit immune, only sneak attack immune, which is a good use for Oaken imo.
