A scene in the Elfsong Tavern:

Naeus Therao sits at one end of a round table, pensive; an ale flagon near him, remains practically untouched. He seems to be lost in thought, un disturbed until a runner arrives in the tavern, bearing a small wooden box, for which Naeus pays a small handful of coin to receive.

Placing the box upon the table in front of him, Naeus opens its unhinged top, placing it to the side, gently. For a moment, he stares inside the small box, contemplating the contents. Then, with a even speed, he dips his fingers inside, grabbing one object at a time: first is pulled out a small figurine of carved wood, a shape of a recognizable but stylized horse head, placing it upright on the table, slightly in front of the holding box. Seconds later he reaches a second time into the holding box, dexterous and strong fingers evenly pulling out another figurine piece, this time a squarish tower, placing it next to the horse head.

He pauses, Naeus does, to stare at the two pieces, standing upright, and proud. Returning his attention to the holding box, he puts nearly his whole hand in, in order to make a full grab—two figurines are pulled out at once, then admired while laying in his open palmed hand. Naeus wobbles his hand slightly, and these two figurines—both tall cylindrical shapes with different sized crowns at the top end—clonk together softly like two dried wood bits. He appears to be shaking them a bit, as if they would activate or move...but they remain wooden, inanimate, and soon enough, he places the two pieces down next to the horse head and the squarish tower, laid on their sides, in contrast to the standing, earlier placed, two pieces.

Naeus looks to the holding box once more, staring down into its shallow darkness, observing what lies within, a reluctant frown growing upon his bowed face. Unconsciously, one of his now free hands reaches for the flagon, gripping its familiar handle.

"Come out and play..." escapes his lips before he takes a large gulp of the ignored drink...

A man in bloody tunic and breeches is seen carrying blondehaired woman from the Blade and Stars to the Temple of Ilmater. The woman wears a tattered, bloodstained dress and she seems insensate. The man yells at any who get in his way to stand aside, that he is a cleric of Ilmater and the woman must be tended to.

Let it be known the woman known as Neraline is named as priestess of Loviatar, the Lady of Pain.

Let it be known she is guilty of heinous crimes associated with that goddess, and that her base nature will stop at no ill deed. She should be considered a dangerous adversary.

Information as to the woman may be passed to the Order of the Radiant Heart, or the Temple of Ilmater in Baldur's Gate.

Some folk my catch word that a quite eccentric gnome by the name of Wizzelbert Cranksproket has sold a few of his "amazing apparati" to passers-by in the farmlands near town.

The 'Wizzelbert Whirligig Sheltifier' - a large tent that both pops up and comes down on its own, taking up very little room - has been the one item to capture the interest of the adventuring types most quickly. (It has even captured one person entirely, though they were soon released.)

His 'Telescopic Firefly', rodent-ran 'Gear-Turned Spit', and a number of his alchemical concoctions have been met with a somewhat cooler reception.

The gnome with the red sash and too-large tophat can be found near the city at random hours of the day, and has also been said to provide struggling adventures with coin for odd jobs, though no one is sure what those jobs have been.

Rumors of the recent Silver Shield tournament hang in the air. Hoffman Vineyards was present to provide wine to the spectators and members of the band provided some refreshments themselves.

This was likely the most competitive tournament yet with the final match of the skilled bracket being an extremely close fight won by a man named Jarresh. It is rumored that a man named Hasam won the novice bracket with little competition, though he ended up fighting a skilled competitor who was trying to collect on the lower divisions prize.

Many fine combatants were involved in top bracket of the tournament but a man named Hinzel ended up claiming clear victory in the end. However the champion of the first tournament Laya was nowhere to be seen and Captain Mealir declined to participate in this tournament despite having claimed an enormous purse in the last one. One wonders if they had both entered what result we may have seen.

There is a rumour going around amongst the guard that a certain Mr. Smith has escaped from the jails. Some conversation concerns half pin-barrel hinges, a bench, a dog with a bone, and a wooden eye, but they all seem to be nothing more than drunken tavern drivel. Even though the one who abetted in this misadventure was disincled to acquiesse to the inital terms of release, for the paltry sum of three gold Mr. Smith, er, Cap'n Smith seems to have made his way past the guard, and garnered his freedom with his possessions in tact if you please.

A young man in dark leather and hood is seen spending a good bit of time around Baldur's Gate, speaking with vendors, dock workers and even a few guards. Coin changes hand and whispers are had. He moves quickly, brisk of pace and purpose, speaking low and doling out coin to any with rumor of this... prison break. Finally the man returns to the docks and books passage south.

Allegedly, Maltz' store in Baldur's Gate is carrying advance copies of the first volume of a new guide for adventurers in the region. Those interested are urged, perhaps at the insistence of the author himself, to hurry and pick one up while stocks last.

Hidden: show

It is a Theater hosted event where -anyone- can come up to the stage and perform something along with the theme set for the evening. The winner will be awarded a prize sum.

The place is The White Mask Theater, Palace District in Baldur's Gate.

Please be considerate of the length of your performance, to allow others a bit of stage time as well.
Performances can be music, dancing, singing, magic show, acrobatics etc.

Any questions can be asked in a PM or meet any of the Theater troupe IG.

In taverns throughout Baldur's Gate as well as the Friendly Arm Inn, a message appears in the women's washroom for all the fair damsels of the land to see:

Variations of the little "advertisement" appear in one or two congregation spots as well, pinned among other public notices.

Rumours figueres strange aperances in the City of Baldur's Gate wearing Dark Red Robes with the face covered in cloth have created many whispers throuhout the City..

-What they are, and the reason for apearing suddenly is highly speculated though...

Those paying attention to such things may notice that the eccentric gnome, donning a too-large top hat and red sash around his waist, is continuing to do brisk business between the farmlands around Baldur’s Gate all the way to the outskirts of the Friendly Arm Inn.

A sighting of the golden tent of 'Wizzelbert's Amazing Apparati' is sure to be accompanied by clanks and clunks of gadgetry, the whir of clockwork gears, and the high-pitched, fast talking sales pitch of Wizzelbert himself.

Most recently folks may have noticed that he has been being accompanied by Jarresh Stillwater, a ranking member of the Silver Shields and champion of their recent tournament, who appears to stand guard diligently as he hawks his wares. No one knows what may have led to his need of protection, but he seems more at ease with him nearby, and seems friendly with other members of that band.

Some days after the Open Stage Night at the White Mask Theater, news spread through Baldur's Gate of the performers of the eve.

On the 28th of Nightal, an Open Stage Night was held in the White Mask Theater. The hostess for the evening was Nëa and the theme was Hot & Cold. The Assistant Director Telia Navra brought some warmth to start the eve with a song titled Things We Lost In The Fire. Kahanak followed with a short poem made for the eve, titled Hot & Cold. Hannah was next with a bawdy song called The Blind Motsy's Lover. Nëa then graced the stage with a lute singing "a funny love song with fire in it". The love song was followed by an emotional poem from Lydia Starkweather. The next performance was a small play by Viktor about a beautiful fairy and an ugly troll, both parts played by Viktor. Amywien entered the stage to recite a poem titled Granny.

The audience voted Viktor's wonderful play as the winner of the evening, recieving a prize sum from the Theater. The next Open Stage Night will be on the 11th of Hammer.
