Mastery of Shaping - Archmage High Arcana bugged?

Unread post by Nyeleni »

High Arcana: Mastery of Shaping
Specifics: At the cost of one 6th level spell you gain the ability to shape your spells in such a manner that they only harm hostile creatures. Your understanding of magic has deepend to the point where you can use this ability at will. If no sacrificed spell slot is available the ability cannot be used. Spell slots are sacrificed the first time the feat is used after resting and must contain a memorized spell.
Use: On / Off
Wizard ASoC AM got to the second lvl of Archmage and now the 6th level spell disappears regardless if the High Arcana is on or off. Should it work it that way?

Yes, the tlk file which has the descriptions is outdated at the moment. Everything is sacrificed on rest.

I posted an updated TLK file which has these changes a little while ago. So the update for it is pending. This was a last minute design change before the class was released. We never got around to updating the descriptions.

All the AM feats I have use up a spell slot each at every rest and not after use. The description is wrong and should be updated. Something like "Spell slots are sacrificed after resting and must contain a memorized spell."

The xp cost on spell like abilities should be updated as well, as its straight from PNP and not applicable here.

Actually Mastery of Shaping uses up another slot after activating it: So I end up sacrifcing two 6th lvl slots for this feature. Now, that I find a bit excessive. Is that really in the spirit of the arcana?

Once you rest, it is back to only one sacrifice. But it is annoying nontheless the first time you activate it.
