Let's just hope Cazna doesn't reappear from the annals of the past, I don't trust her, everyone knows her avatar photo is staged, she had to leave the temple and invade some sort of children's school to get that picture!

Yes, Asgorath checks this forum and he is pleased to see so many old faces returning. Keep yourself combat-ready old timers, soon it'll be time for some good old fashioned, drow-style action!

*In the underdark a loud sound is heard. It resonates through the tunnels. It's vibrations can be heard all the way from Menzobaranzan to Ched Nasad. From Blingdentstone to Gracklstugh. It is a call to all those who hear it, to gather in Sshamath, the tunnels of Sshamath need widening and sperlunking. Spread the news far and wide. Bad things come to those who network.*

PS - Translation - tell everyone you know who likes the UD, in the NWN community, that we should make a move on a server, instead of waiting for a server to make a move for us.

I think Aeb Ankor made a really good suggestion about guild application areas.

Why not get two UD groups going. A new lothite house and something else, perhaps Duergar miners, or Deep Gnome gem seekers. Each group get about 4-6 players, and we do our own thing.

Meanwhile UD players who have the desire, should apply to become dedicated UD DMs.

I know a lot of you have tried, a lot of you have been in the BG UD a long time. But I think if we got people we knew to come and start something fresh, with a whole new crew of DM applications for the UD, I think we can make something of it.

Personally I really want to see Zau'Afin in the UD. But I know there are other people out there with different visions. I think we need to get together as players and also get some more UD DMs. One UD dm is not enough to cover it all. That is tough work. They need a team down here.

I agree with this - when you're starting out with a new drow (or other UD race, though the +2 level adjustment makes things more arduous), the UD is a lonely place where, if you're very lucky, you'll bump into someone within your level range - and if you're even luckier than that, they might be willing to RP with you.

After a while, this starts being "not fun" - especially if you've spent three hours killing displacer beasts and an epic wanders through the area and... *nods* :x

At present, I've fled back up to the realms of the hated light, but I would absolutely love to have a character in the UD, and if there was some sort of joint initiative to start a group of characters off at once, I'd be very interested in that.

Well I've got a fresh counter to that. I've just been down there, and I meta-game like I always do, going down to areas where newbies are to initiate some RP.

I've gone to the tombs, and a guy that saw me ran the other way. At first I thought - maybe he missed me. So then I got back to the city having done a round to sell some items. I see the guy running towards me, makes a U turn and runs around the tents to avoid any interaction with me.

Me -> Drow Male Wizard - Level 9, with an imp summon.

Eh?

I'll agree with you there - I've been playing a new character on the surface lately and a lot of low level areas have people who avoid contact with others, presumably for OOC "grab all the loot for myself" reasons. :x

It has to work both ways, absolutely.

I think it's the case where they are afraid I would blast them to bits on a whim, given they're level 1. Not that I would unless they would peeve me off. But because it's an evil place and they not necessarily know the lore, the fear is there. I've decided to drop the RP for today given I've wasted time running after this guy and I have loads to do IRL.

So sorry :P

Rp doesn't need a DM Team, that's a bit backwards. Build the RP and they will come.

One DM for the 10 people online at one time is actually pretty good.

I did. I had a lore confidence crisis though. (I don't want to play a Lolthite until I'm confident I can do it properly)

Do you want a lore boost? I have nothing against meta-gaming to meet accidentally (wink) in game and running a mini event to get you up to speed.

Yeah Luna archives accounts no longer in use. There's a good chance it's still there. If not, well, more fun doing it all over again ;)

That would be excellent, thank you. I shall need to redesign my drow so she's not such a loathsome Mary-Sue, though, first. I'll let you know once all is ready. :)
