During riots in the town of Nashkel, a knight wearing a cloak of Ilmater and a dark hooded figure with two blades struggle to keep the peaceful townsfolk safe from harm, attempting to form a "safe haven". The pair fight off rioters, using deadly force when pressed, but only in defence of themselves and their charges. There does seem to be some disagreement between the pair as to where the line between "defence" (favoured by the Ilmateri) and "offence" (favoured by the hooded figure) is, leading to some rather stern words at some points. Generally however they manage to coordinate their efforts well enough.

The cave behind the water fall

Durek and Drahano approach the waterfall with intent to kill the lizard folk inside. Noticing a woman at the entrance and Durek having little interest in going. Drahano approaches the woman. Well fitted in leather armor & wards. A snow leopard at her side growling...

Drahano greets the woman with a "Hello". A little curious of what shes doing here and if she returned from within the cave or if she was entering. Hoping to make a random friend, he found an argument. She was protecting the lizards & spoke of a scared tree within the cave. Said they were protectors of the tree and that we shouldn't hunt them foolishly .

She spoke of nature as if it was her religion, and very passionate about it. But angered, as Drahano explained that he has ventured "The Peaks" for years and have killed hundreds of Lizard folk. Never Once disturbing the Tree. Not describing the importance of the Tree she continued to stand guard, and block the entrance

After a good conversation & debate, Drahano introduced himself and offered to help her if she needed it, then walked away. *She Yells as he walks away*

The northern region of Amn is busy preparing for the annual harvest holidays.
For most farmers and peasants, this is a time to celebrate the harvesting of the crop, but also a time to prepare for winter's approach.
Many common folk throw offerings of various kinds into cold lakes and streams, to show their veneration and fear of the winter goddess, and ward off her icy stare.

In Nashkel, the small township is preparing itself for the Coming Storm, a time where the nearby Aurilites call down the first winter blizzards, and send them raging over the Cloud Peak mountains. A spectacle that many citizens look forward to with awe, while others look with trepidation towards the harsh times that lie ahead in the colder and darker half of the year.

For better or worse, the time of the Autumnal Equinox is imminent.

Rumours spread of knightly orders, scholars, dwarves and men of nature battling a vast army of undead in the mountains above Nashkel. The undead were victorious, although do not seem to have followed up their victory with an assault upon the town.

Mavicyr Savyr can be seen entering the Town Hall in Beregost, petitioning the governor Isabella Beninio and what remains of the town guard to watch out for a man who is accused of worshipping demons. He then goes to Lathander's temple to warn his fellow brothers and sisters in faith of the man as well.
To whom it may concern,

I ask of you to be wary of the presence of a human male wearing a horned helmet and using a great axe, claiming to worship the lord of the nine hells himself and also using his name as his own. He has been witnessed by myself to enter Beregost. This man (I shall not refer him by the name he gives) has caused trouble in the lands in and surrounding that of the Dukes of Baldur's Gate. I ask of you to put aside any past hostilities as this man is dangerous and refuses to stand trial for his crimes, which aside from worshipping a devil also includes human sacrifice and ordering the murder of others. An warrant for his arrest has been given in the land of the Dukes. I offered to escort him safely to the Flaming Fist which he declined, despite being offered a fair trial and thus a chance to rid himself of the accusations - if they would prove incorrect.

[another paragraph gives the details of his accomplices, as listed on the warrant by the Flaming Fist]

Sincerly,
Mavicyr Savyr
Priest and Morninglord of The Song of the Morning Temple
// To clarify, no crime was seen committed but Mavicyr has heard enough accusations to at least warn of the potential threat.

An usual sight lately has been that of a specialty priest of Lathander walking amongst the people of Beregost. Mavicyr Savyr stands out from the townsfolk with his priestly robes with golden embroidery and expensive looking accessories. His accent is clearly that of someone from Athkatla, the capital of Amn and it shows in his appearance. If any thieves or anyone get any thoughts of robbing the Morninglord of any valuables, they would think twice as he is always accompanied by a young paladin serving Lathander. The paladin Quindeel is an even odder sight, clearly looking exotic in her features and wearing a turban on her head. The priest is rumored to have come from Athkatla several moons ago. Recently he visited and returned from Athkatla, around the same time the paladin arrived to the Song of the Morning temple and shortly afterwards, the rounds amongst the townsfolk began.

Mavicyr and Quindeel take their time to talk with anyone they see; be it to listen to their troubles or simply putting a hand on someone's shoulder, offering words of encouragement and appreciation for their work. They make little distinction between the farmers and the poor and the more well off people. The priest appears to be very relaxed, as if he enjoys exchanging words with the townsfolk. The paladin seems more alert and on guard but has a bright smile for everyone. It is apparent that she struggles somewhat with the language although it has no impact at all on her cheerful mood. Wherever Mavicyr and Quindeel goes, a sense of safety and comfort follows them. The townsfolk who seem to be in dire need are given a donation in Lathander's name. For anyone willing, the priest offers a moment of prayer and simple blessings but does not force the faith although Lathander's name is invoked many times. When they are finished, Mavicyr and Quindeel always stop at the Risen Phoenix Inn where Mavicyr loudly states that a free round of drinks is on him, for the enjoyment of the good townsfolk. Despite their outlandish appearance, the priest and paladin sit down with the rest to drink, attempting to try and merge themselves with the people instead of keeping to themselves.

*A citizen of long standing of Beregost has been seen asking around about the increased activity among the Lathanderites. The aged, blind vintner known as Monty seems curious about their intentions in his homeland. He does not seem overly concerned, merely inquisitive on what their plans for the future are, especially since the Amnish guards were pulled back. He also makes is very clear that the Hoffman Vineyards would be happy to supply a selection of wines for sampling if any such sacramental libations are needed.*

Beregost,

After several days with no word from Quindeel the paladin of Lathander, Mavicyr Savyr begins to worry. Asking the other clergy, he is told she has not returned from her journey and has sent no note of her delay. He sets out himself on the road to the Friendly Arm Inn to investigate her whereabouts. Before traveling, the Morninglord spends time in prayer asking Lathander to watch over her and guide her back to their temple.

After a long search,

Mavicyr finds the lost paladin -dead- at the bottom of the river some way from Beregost by pure chance. He will say it was Lathander's light that guided him but he had not the strength to pull her up himself. People from the temple were gathered and with combined strength, pulled out the body of their fallen servant. Quindeel was laid on a cart and covered with fabric, the state of her body not being a pretty sight. She was later placed in the temple, priests chanting prayers over her.

Having been absent for some time with duties in the north, a familiar, although recently arrived, figure have been sighted in Beregost once more. He often walk among the locals, listening to their pleas and offering solace, guidance and divine help whereever needed and wanted. Tolan, as he is known as in both Beregost and beyond, always carries a warm smile to those he meet on his travel, eager to learn of both the people as well as the town and outlying areas. He mostly travels in his finely crafted armor, sporting a warhammer in his belt - both carrying the symbol of Lathander. On rarer occasions he wears a finely crafted tunic as he walk among the populace.

Tolan is sometimes seen in the presence of Mavicyr, a Morninglord like himself, or the paladin Quindeel as they make their way through the city or spend time at the temple. When not accompanied by those of his faith, he is usually seen together with one or more of his close friends, most often a young human woman in blue robes with black hair. He have also been seen travelling through town on several occasions with one or two Tieflings, both also close friends of his. Although he receive many suspicious looks from the populace because of this, he is quick to convince them that his friends do not follow the path that so many others of their kind do - sometimes with more succes than others. The one thing he rarely appear to be, however, when not dedicating his time explicitly to the populace, is alone.

Rumour is spreading in Beregost and up and down the Tradeway, as well in areas where the light of justice isn't shining, that Alistair the Red is holding one last recruitment round at the Phoenix Inn.

In what has now become a common sight, a white knight has been patrolling the streets of Beregost. He lends his waking hours walking along both with the Lathanderites and alone aiding the people as he can. Offering a smile and greeting to those he passes, healing cuts and bruises of the farm hands, so they do not need to leave their work to visit the Temple of Lathander, Turning in thieves and other brigands, that plague the town, unlucky enough to cross his path. Some find it odd that a Knight of The Knight would be among followers of Lathander, to which he is overheard discussing his position within the Order of the Silver Rose and even taking the opportunity to discuss a bit about the Lady of Strategy.

The Everwatch Knights have been rather busy recently, going to Major Berrun Ghasthill's mansion for an audience. Many topics were discussed, the security of the town and of its inhabitants being the prime reasons of concern for the Knights of Helm.

After a couple of hours, the Helmites proudly returned to patrolling the streets, having now been granted permission to aid the local garrison with the peacekeeping and upholding the local laws and customs, while still being subject to them.

Then, a few hours later, a strange war horn echoed throughout the Cloud Peak foothills, duergars seemingly pouring out of a gate and attacking the local giant populace.

The followers of Helm were quick to intervene though, and with the help of some strangers, as well as the divine help of Helm, managed to seal the portal and protect the town from incursions.
May the Watchful guard you all.

Beregost
The local Amnian garrison has finally returned to full activity today, as amnian soldiers lead by a single golden legionnaire officer have been seen escorting many riff-raffs and lowlifes to the local jails.

This crackdown was interrupted by a cowled woman fruitlessly trying to take a sneak peek at the jail, and a red haired arcanist having attacked the officer Antonio de Coibra. After a brief fight (which claimed a halfling as collateral casualty), the woman escaped. The cowled and masked woman was instead apprehended, held, "interrogated", and then literally thrown out of the town with very few intact bones left. "Devil worshipper scum" were reportedly the nicest things the guards yellet at her before tossing her out.

Despite the ruckus, this crackdown of illicit operations has been favorably received by the local populace, who is starting to see a faint gleam of hope for the future of the town's law and order and is especially pleased to see the law enforcement taking action against unruly pact mages.

As for the red haired woman, many posters are being nailed to lamp-posts all over Beregost, Nashkel and the road leading to the FAI:

Red Haired Arcanist

*follows an accurate description of Sabel Faeria*
Bounty: 25k gold coins, dead or alive
Accessory: 5k gold coins for any useful information people can provide about her

This woman is wanted by the authorities of Beregost for aggression against public officer, attempted murder, illicit practicing of magic, and resistance to arrest. Those interested in collecting such a bounty can speak to the governor Isabella Beninio or to the local commander, Antonio de Coibra. Anyone bringing this dangerous criminal to justice will receive the gratitude of Amn, as well as the just reward for such a task.

*follows the official seal of Amn*

Beregost Again
A very small detachment of Amnian soldiers was seen entering the temple of Lathander, commanded by captain Antonio de Coibra. There was much commotion inside, as some passerbys heard the captain yelling about drows being allowed inside the temple and even offered shelter. Things were about to escalate to a full fight, before a single woman under the effect of a sanctuary spell was seen leaving the temple and heading outside Beregost, never to return.

Captain Antonio was then seen escorting a young woman and a middle-aged man to the barracks. After about an hour, the woman was set free with no punishment, while the man was forced to run the gauntlet and take 50 lashes for having attempted to bribe the captain.

After the man was administered only 30 strikes, though, the captain ordered his men to stop, in an unexpectedly merciful way, as the man was unable to withstand the punishment any further.

Other sources claim that the infamous pirate captain, Kalma Hellstorm, tried to start a brawl inside the local tavern, only to be stopped just in time by the local captain of the watch.

Despite the extreme tension of this day in Beregost, the situation has been stabilized, and between now safer streets and the local garrison finally taking action to uphold the law, the town's inhabitants are finally sleeping well, though Beregost is still far from being a safe, orderly place.
