Generally when items disappear from invetory the DM team just asks for a screenshot showing the item and a DM will replace it in game. Send us all a PM and someone will help you out.

Well, not FR but I confess I pick up the Dragonlance Warrior's Saga at least once a year to re-read it, love that.

FR proper I absolutely love the Erevis Cale trilogy and the Sions of Sembia. I will never take a Slaad lightly after reading it. Nor Doppelgangers *shivers*

Forgotten Realms books are absolutely amazing! Ed Greenwood and R.A. Salvatore are my favorites, but there are other great authors as well. In fact The Knights of Myth Drannor series is amazing and happens during our timeline in Cormyr.

You raise an interesting point. The FR books have had some thematic issues in the past: bad is out there doing bad stuff, good gets a whiff of it and goes off and bashes bad, bad is eventually beaten and good pats itself on the back, and the cycle repeats. The first attempt to add something new was really Time of Troubles storyline where gods got directly involved. Then the Netherese were (re)introduced, shadow-weave stuff came next, then a bunch of Drow books when ended with Elistree and Lloth playing a big game of Drow chess... I think the writers have hit a wall with respect to where to take the whole FR world, and I have seen a lot of books focus on character development, and yes, most of it seems to be gods picking out people to manipulate. Is the lack of a Hollywood movie because the FR books are too focused on dieties? Maybe. There are hit movies that involve gods (I'm thinking of Thor, and yes, my definition of "hit" may differ from yours... ) and remember Star Wars revolves around "the Force" which is mystical and god-like in terms of power and ability. I think the real issue is that there is just nothing new to be told that isn't either so obscure that only a select number of the population will get it, or too watered down that people who want a FR-based story will poo-poo it for selling out. What D&D and the FR have as strengths, that is the ability to adapt to everyone's imagination, is it's downfall when it comes to making a good movie (story and special effects) which will appeal to a broad based audience, re: something that people will pay to go and see. Really, what any FR movie would be about would involve the "classical" fantasy story line, and unless really well done in terms of acting, special effects, and yes, good story, would just come out as another B-moive found in the sci-fi fantasy section on Netflix.
Rather than leaving it here, personally, I think a few character-based webisodes or even a four part miniseries done right could spark some interest in the FR and lead to a (better made) DnD movie. We can relate to Thor, for example, because there are comic books written about him - give FR a hero that people can follow, and eventually there will be a moive.

Major resotation spells could have the effect of returning sight, regrowing limbs, etc. In one of RA Salvatore's books, Grummish (I think) grants some permanent stat boosts to an orc who becomes an orc king (Int and/or Wis I think.) The idea being that there is some sort of divine intervention. I also remember from my ancient PnP days somewhere in a Dungeon or Dragon magazine reading about a bunch of space aliens (ya, bear with me) who would take willing victims and perform experiments on them, thus granting them stat bonuses. i.e. they would add muscle to arms to make a character stronger, but the character would suffer a CHA minus because they were hideously deformed, etc. Erivis Cale also recieves a gift from Mask of a shadow-magic hand after his real one is chopped off... I think somewhere Gond may have build some kind of prosthesis or two for various situations, and who out there can forget the Hand and Eye of Vecna... If you are born blind, there are magical means to give sight - I had a PnP player who had a blind cavalier character who had an imp sit on his shoulders and when the imp placed his hands over the blind-players eye sockets, the blind player could see through the imp's eyes. Wizards can see through familiars... wizard eye floats around and looks at things...
OK back to the question - can limbs and eyesight be restored through spells? Yes, under exceptional conditions and/or circumstances. Is it normal practice? No, not really. If you have your arm chopped off it can be reattached. If you were born without an arm, you are out of luck.
