The Fey

Unread post by Ichabod »

Hi, all,

Anyone have any good sources on fey politics and fey in general in the Forgotten Realms? The FR wiki is pretty vague, and most of the Fey (D&D) wikipedia entry is from source material dated in the 90's. I was hoping to incorporate some fey stuff into the background of the next fellow I roll up, and I wanted to do my homework first.

Thanks!

As I was just mentioning to Valefort moments ago actually, that's one part of 3rd edition that's not really explored, but it's there for players and DMs if they wish to take a walk into that area. 4th edition made a push to expand upon all of that.

Auril and Lurue are Archfey-turned-gods, there's also a member of the Seldarine called Sarula Iliene whom is the god of Nixies.

The Grand History of the Realms may have more info, but the body of lore is scattered across the FR books where only brief passages are given.

Though not a class in game, sune also has many feys in her service, and I know of a couple feyborn that are in her service not sure if that is what your looking for.

Sune also shows her favor through the appearance or presence of fire doves, flame poppies, rubies, roses or rose petals (especially deep red ones), chestnut horses, satyrs, slyphs, nymphs, and dryads.

I was hoping to get information on the heirarchy of the various courts...not sure if they're known as seelie/unseelie, or summer/winter, or something else...maybe they don't even exist as such in the Forgotten Realms. Like Mouse said, there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of information in published 3rd edition sources. What does the DM team think - do we have a bit of latitude to make stuff up, or should we collectively just not touch it?
