How exactly does the Moonblade spell granted by the Moon domain work?
The description says that the blade uses touch attacks, does that mean you have the same amount of attacks per round as normal or just one single touch attack?
Will magical damage from Divine Might and the like transfer to the damage?
Will I get AB from strength, even though I don't get the damage mod?

Re: Moonblade Mechanics
I believe no to all. It's a full round action. I believe it's been patched again recently, someone may know what it's current details are.

Re: Moonblade Mechanics
Once cast, the spell creates a visual effect on your main hand. It also creates a small, moveable icon close to you quickslots. This icon activates a melee touch attack with the spell, exactly like any other melee touch attack making it very accurate.
Pressing the icon numerous times queues up additional touch attacks, one per turn. Activating the ability does not provoke attacks of opportunity, but casting the spell initially does as normal.
It gains no additional effects that other touch attacks do not gain. This means that you could sneak attack or death attack with it if you also have the arcane trickster class. There are no other ways to improve the damage beyond improved critical(sword or melee touch attack) or weapon specialization (sword or melee touch attack) as it is still a spell effect not a melee attack.
Hopefully this clarifies the spells use.

Re: Moonblade Mechanics
Thanks alot, that clarifies things, I assumed it would be just one attack per round, otherwise it would be abit to strong
What about the visual component though? I read someone said your char goes unarmed while it's active? Is this still the case or does it have a sword visual now?

When I tested it on JEG's my cleric was holding a (very pretty) sword, but she used the unarmed attack animations. This may not be the case anymore, though.Styxwash wrote:Thanks alot, that clarifies things, I assumed it would be just one attack per round, otherwise it would be abit to strong![]()
