An Open Stage Night was held in the White Mask Theater on the 11th of Hammer. The hostess for the evening was the Assistant Director Telia Navra who had chosen Faith as the theme. She offered a few words on how everyone are affected by faith and how differently faith can be viewed.
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
Faith is a knowledge within the heart, beyond the reach of proof.
Duke Eltan, Duke Entar and Duke Belt graced the Theater with their presence along with the Countess Aloise von Stieglietz from Waterdeep.
The Theater's Director, Herran Hymn, was the first who braved the stage with a song in memory of his old mistress titled Lliiras Writ. Valkrun Anatox then entertained the audience with a few words about the gods. One of the fair folk, Gondael Sha'Beri, shared a song about the misunderstood elven deity Hanali Celani. His performance ended in a brilliant show of light. Next on the stage was the Dawnpriest Thomas Marlowe with a story happening in a monastery of the Order of the Sun Soul and a poem dedicated to the Morninglord. Jack Artreri then stole the stage with a song titled The Rose-Coloured Knight. Jack Artreri is an old member of the Theater and this was his first official performance since his return. After the stage was returned, Thedran also known as The Rock, spoke of his faith in Baldur's Gate, her people and her future. Thedran then played a song in dedication to the city. Nerys, skald of the Greyfox tribe and a member of the Theater troupe, was the last performer of the evening with a song titled Twilight, which was about the feywild, her spirit guide and the Wind Walker.
After a very close tie with Nerys and Jack Artreri, the fair Gondael Sha'Beri won the most of the audience's votes. Gonadel Sha'Beri received a prize reward from the Theater and the Countess Aloise von Stieglietz made sure to reward her favourite as well.
The Theater is planning to hold a Midwinter celeberation in Baldur's Gate in the coming tendays. Anyone with any interest in peddling wares or anything else related should contact Assistant Director Telia Navra.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Early in the morning a bright bulb of light can be seen for a moment in the eastern farmlands near Baldur's Gate. Two people walked out of it, a hooded human male dressed in black and white wearing a black cloak with a silver cross on it and a blonde elf in red robes, similar cloak hanging from her back. They proceeded to the city gates, human trying to hurry while the elf gazed at the sun along the way as if it was her first time seeing it. Once inside the the Eastern district of the city they could be spotted making their way towards the temple of Ilmater. Anyone visiting the temple over the next few days would likely notice the elf lying in a bed, bandages wrapped around her fists and the man sitting next to it.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate

In the clearing haze, a human figure was spotted near the cliffs of the Durlag's Tower District... adventurer's and wanderers of sorts scratched their heads in confusion as they witnessed the man enter the keep, and on multiple accounts, descend carrying bodies of drow and aimlessly tossing them over the cliff...some even reportedly saw the man take out sharp objects to decapitate and in some instances remove their hands as he flinged them off the sharp-rocked edges of the mountain. No one stood long enough to keep count of the bodies thrown.. but local residents of the nearby hin establishment note that the man has not been seen traveling back North.. for days.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumors quickly spread of a large group gathering in front of the Radiant Heart chapter house on a recent evening. A small band set out from the area, their destination rumored to be the Fields of the Dead. Many souls offered help and blessings for the journey but it was decided that a small group would have the best opportunity to scout out the disturbance. Many others waited anxiously just north of Baldur's Gate for the group's return. Stories are largely varied regarding who specifically was included in the group but it appears that they did return, unharmed for the most part.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
The Duchess of Shadows has informed the Thieves' Guild, the criminal underground of Baldurs Gate,
that they are to make Telia Navras life miserable in and around the Gate.
A very in depth description has been given including the fact that she works at the White Mask Theater as an assistant.
A forewarning has been given about her ability to quickly cast spells in an instant, her keen senses,
and that she should not be mugged unless done with extreme caution.
Word has it that one will be compensated 5,000 coins for 'making her feel unwelcomed' in the Gate.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Since yesterday the bard and ship capitain can be seen in the Blade and Stars inn where he plays the flute and sings restlessly, refusing to answer anyone's questions.
Among those are three songs that he repeats more often :

Among those are three songs that he repeats more often :
Danae
It was a frigate Ianla
It was a frigate !
She was named the Danae
Taking one more reef in the low sails,
She was named the Danae
Taking one more reef in the topsail,
During her first trip,
During her first trip, she sunk
On 180 men,
On 180 men, only one survived ...
A young topman,
A young topman, who knew to swim well
He reached a beach,
A girl was there, crying
"What is the matter, beautiful
Why do you cry ?"
I'm crying on my lost innocence
That in the sea was lost
"What would you give, beautiful
to whom would give it back to you ?"
"I would give it to him,
with my friendship."
On the first try,
On the first try, the sailor found nothing
On the second try,
On the second try, the sailor drowned
Because once lost innocence
Because once lost innocence, never can be found again
Song of depart
Sailor, my good friend
Rage, rage, pull harder, rage
Sailor, my good friend we go to the world's end
Chorus :
Sailor put heart into it
Rage, rage, pull harder, rage
Sailor put heart into it
Take the helm with your teeth
For fifteen days of joy,
For fifteen days of joy, we got drunk like kings, oh boy
*the tune slows down, turning regretful*
Lads, fast, we must go
Lads, fast, we must go, farewell girls of the docks..
They're going to regret us
They're going to regret us, while toasting us !
*the tune slows down further, turning sour*
But girls are like death,
But girls are like death, they can be found north and south
*the tune picks up, energically*
That's why we'll see them again !
That's why we'll see them again, if we ever come back !
// not taking any credits, some translation/adaptation of some french songsThe short stick
Three young sailors carrying letters,
Are sailing the seas,
They sailed for seven years,
They sailed for seven years, without ever earth seeing,
By the end of the seventh year,
By the end of the seventh year, the bread and wine were lacking
It was time to draw straws,
It was time to draw straws, to know who would be eaten...
The capitain made the straws,
The capitain made the straws, and kept the short one
"Should we eat our capitain ?"
"Should we eat our capitain, he who was so kind to us ?"
"Oh no, I don't think so, no" said the young ship's boy
"For you all, death I shall withstand !"
"If for me you endure death ..."
"If for me you endure death, 100 gold I will give you !"
He was not even at half mast,
He was not even at half mast, he began to laugh and sing
"Courage you all, courage !"
"I can see earth, on every side !"

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Soon after the Open Stage Night, news spread in Baldur's Gate of the performers and the events of the eve.
In preparation for the coming Midwinter Celebration, the White Mask Theater held an Open Stage Night on the 1st of Alturiak with the theme of Winter. Assistant Director Telia Navra was hostess for the eve. Za'than Za'amal was first on the stage with some poetic Ice Breaker words. A new addition to the Theater, Fae also known as the Songstress followed up with a song and lute about Bitter Sweet Winter Air with an unexpected ending. Felian Feyborn, the artist and Soundcerer of the Theater, was next on stage with an untitled song about winter and love accompanied by the guitar. Nerys, who is a member of the Theater and a Skald of the Greyfox Tribe, followed up with a song titled Song of the Snow.
Captain Mealir Ostirel sang a lively song on a mandolin titled the Storm Song and encouraged the audience to sing along. Next to grace the stage was Sylvia Galavoir with a song called Alturiak Air. The Theater's Director, Herran Hymn, then took the stage with a song devoted to his love Mila. Sadly Mila could not be present and Telia Navra was asked to stand in her place, clueless of the number of the performance - much to the enjoyment of the audience. After Herran Hymn's bold moves, Cheryl Mae Castillo recited a poem written by an unknown poet from Crimmor. A halfling poet, who called herself the Wandering Hin, was last to grace the stage and recited a poem titled The Colds Promise to the Sun.
The audience votes were very divided this eve and it was close between several of the performances but in the end, Herran Hymn's dedication to Mila won. In his happiness of winning, Herran Hymn swept the Assistant Director off her feet and gave her another kiss. An embarrassed Telia Navra reminded the audience that the Theater would put on a show next tenday, a Midwinter Celebration at the Arena just outside Baldur's Gate.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
In the early hours of the morning, the sun barely scrapes the hills. There is tall man of greyish skin, in a linen coat, there is a braid in his hair covered by a hat. In his arms lays a scrawny limp figure , clearly it is burnt beyond what people would assume is recovery. The body is layered with bandage, the hair burnt from its head and parts of leather melted to it. The man strides through the gate to the palace district, he has purpose and knows where he is going.
As soon as he arrives at the gate of lady luck, he looks relieved. The man opens the door using his back, not to harm the body.
A day later, a haunted looking woman exits the building. Her body is hunched, her dark cloak is pulled tight. Her eyes fluttering everywhere, in case she may have been followed. Before slipping into the shadows.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
////Wouldnt mind engaging in some teacher-apprentice-type RP with some low to middling level mages if any are interested. Perhaps not officially as teacher-apprentice unless it really fits, but at least to see where it goes. Wouldnt mind interacting with some higher level mages either, to build some arcane contacts. I know there are a few just starting out. If interested send me a PM.Within the Shelf of Many Books, along the cobbled streets near Sorcerous Sundries, within the Church of Mystra, or seated at the various gathering-fires in the farmlands, a tall bearded man might be noticed frequently moving about 'the Gate. Quiet but not unfriendly he is seemingly looking for something, or someone. Leaning on his staff as he observes those nearby.
Striking up conversation with a select few that pass, he introduces himself as Zahven Thruel. The topics of his musings generally lead toward theories in magick, spellcraft, or other esoteric pursuits and when/if the conversation turns to more mundane subjects he quickly loses focus. It is almost as if each interaction is an interview of some sort, without any official questions asked.

Ivan, Aiden, Myhun, and Za'than could be seen carrying the limp and fragile Annabel into the Temple of Ilmater, where upon entering, set her upon one of the empty beds of the infirmary. The Sisters tended to her needs, and gradually more and more people showed up and left throughout the night. However, in the morning Annabel was still lying in bed... recovering. She'd spend most of her day and night staring at the wall, remembering.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumors swirl surrounding an incident which happened this morning just outside the gates of the great city. It was said that farmers bore witness to a skirmish between an Elven Ranger and a Drow Mage. The battle happened so quickly that many could not believe what they saw. The Ranger did shout in his elven tongue while he let fly a volley of arrows, many farmers became alarmed. By the time they saw the direction of this assault, an unmasked robed Drow Wizard, the mage had set forth a storm of magic missiles which cut through the Ranger unerringly. They might have watched the Ranger fall lifeless to the ground before the Mage ran into the corn field of the Eastern Farmlands.
What ever is happening to the western heartlands, that Drow would make such brazen appearance before the very walls of the Dukes of Baldur's Gate? Certainly the farmers hold their children close this night and bar their doors and windows. It seems none are safe from such creatures of the depths.......

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
*A hooded walks slowly to the Temple of Ilmater. She holds a single flower and walks in through the doors. Inside, she puts herself against the ball, breathing ever so fast, before calming herself. She visits the small chapel (lets hope my memory serves right, and there is actually one there) slipping into one of the seats, with her shoulders hunched over, twirling the flower in her fingers. She sits there for hours.*

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A figure in the shadows lounges lazily back on the couch with a single knee up. The silent figure dangles an arm over the raised knee, a single blade resting easily in hand, watching the Red Sorceress converse with the dark attired shopkeep. Droplets of magical energy play off the woman. The shadowed figures attuned senses cry warning, eyes drawn to these dancing rivulets in the weave as they ripple over the sweet spot below Sabels ribcage.
The Red Sorceress turns towards the door then, eyes passing over the couch as she does. Despite the two daggers held in her grip, one pointed in each direction, the shadowed figure can tell from her expression that she is completely oblivious to the occupied couch.
As the Red Sorceress slips past the couch and out the door, the silent figure extends a knowing glance to the shopkeep, then raises from the couch to move beside him.
