After Level 15 Treasure Hunting

Unread post by Kymeran »

Where are some places that you can go treasure hunting after level 15. I have a couple roguish types that like to treasure hunt when not picking your pockets clean. Most of the places I have been sending my higher level are now too low a level for a treasure run. Where do my fellow treasure hunters delve? I know there is the minotaur maze, but what else?

You can treasure hunt in the minotaur ruins even at level 30. Won't give you any decent XP after 14-15, but you can loot chests and kill the boss guy. Real easy as well.

Gnoll caves.

Actually, the Troll Cave north of Candlekeep is also good, though some of the chests will become unlootable around the level 15.

Can I bump this to see if anything new came up? My toon is level 16 and currently on the treasure hunt. He's jealous of Aiden's stock

Mino ruins, sea cave and gnolls are cool, though I usually try leave them for the CR they're rated for.
Ogre fortress, frost giant keep, durlags tower, field of the dead crypt
I usually get mopped in3 of 4 of those areas, and pretty sure ill get mopped in frost giant keep (though I don't know where that is yet).

Any other tips?

The gullykin crypt, maybe? I'm not sure what CR it is.

Minotaur Labyrinth should be fine for a level 16, though. Bit low XP, maybe. Haunted Mansion might work if you have a good build. Except Chaos, anyways.

You should get a group instead. Then you can do a lot more. Even if you're just two people.

No.

You alos have the hag's cave in Cloakwood central, otherwise in that level range you also have Ulgoth's Beard's cave but it can be quite tricky, depends on the build, give it a go anyway :D

High Moor south is challenging too but it should be possible to overpower that hobgoblin camp. And that must be it.

Thanks DG and Valefort! I can handle the gobs camp and most of the pirate cave. I'll content myself in these areas for now.

My dream to amass more relics than Queen Amlaruil will wait for now ;)

Nashkel Mines has many treasure chests and lots of traps to sell, if you can recover them. Just don't fight the mini Pit Fiend at the end, unless your confident in your skills, since it's quite tough for a solo lvl15-18.

I wouldn't recommend soloing the Nashkel Mines at level 16 unless you have an really strong build.
Attack bonus' of the Duergars are +26 and you got mages to dispell your buffs and not to mention the Rock Beasts that you can't sneak or crit.
Rogues with HiPS can of course always sneak past the ones they don't like but besides the chests there aren't going to be much you're gonna like.
And non-rogues will not be fond of the many traps laying around.
Besides my level 23 character still gets decent xp there so it might not be a level 16 area.

Same goes for Frost Keep.
