Bif BullFist is everything her father hoped for in a son. Born in the little village of New- Oldtown-upon-Throp, near Waterdeep, to a pair of hardworking hin, she has become the heavily-muscled combatant Biff BullFist II always wanted. Heir to the legacy of the original Biff BullFist, a fighter-mercenary renowned for his attention to details, and ability to slit throats, Bif grew up hearing the legends of her grandfather.
Who knows if her story would have ended with her in a bakery somewhere or selling fish on the side of the road, if not for the fateful voyage of the good ship BackBreaker. When she was six years old Bif was placed on the ship to be sent to her grandparents for a summer vacation. Three days out of port the ship ran into a huge squall and was thrown far off course.
BackBreaker broke it's own spine on a coral reef just off the beach of a desert island, dominated by a huge mountain. The crew and passengers quickly made their way to shore and were quickly subdued by a tribe of redcaps. These malicious fey bound the people fleeing the wreck, except for little Bif who wriggled out of her ropes. She picked up a bit of driftwood and assaulted the nearest redcap.
Of course she was not able to hurt the small fey very much, but her courage and viciousness impressed the redcaps. They offered her a choice: join the crew of the ship in the stewpot, or join the redcaps tribe. She, being an intelligent child able to see the main chance, quickly agreed. After some rituals, they filed her teeth into points to resemble their own grim maws, and proceeded to eat the BackBreaker's crew.
Again, the story of Bif could have ended there but for another fortuitous event. A tribe of pixies involved with a large-scale battle against the tribe of redcaps inhabiting this island attacked and massacred the redcaps. In the ruins of their encampment they found the now 8-year old Bif and feeling bad for her circumstances, and enamored of her because of her size similarity, took her with them back to their nest.
