Re: Rumors of Beregost
During one of his few visits to the town of Beregost, a place he until recently called his home, the Dawnpriest Tolan Faeglin overhear rumors of what happened. His usually calm and friendly demeanor quickly changes as he investigates further, inquiring the locals about what happened. As he continues to ask around town, the locals soon start to whisper amongst themselves that whatever happened to the Lady Paladin of Tyr, the Dawnpriest is not happy about it - some even start to cast worrying glances to him as his expression takes on hints of pure wrath and an unspoken promise of revenge on whoever is to blame.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
News of the Lady-Paladin's disappearance spread quickly. A large assembled group of various persons including Paladin, Bard, Priest, Silver Shield and other less obvious souls were seen by the lake on the Trade Route North of Beregost late the same day, demanding the 'Dead Crows' release Cecilia Lafayette whom they claimed was kidnapped by their own Red Sorceress. A physical confrontation occurred and injuries were taken on both sides.
Soon after (a full twenty-four hours after whispers started in Beregost) citizens of Baldur's Gate reported seeing the aforementioned Paladin. Her armor was said to be twisted horribly with dents and riddled with both punctures and scorch marks. She herself was bloodied, bruised and being carried in a limp, near unconscious state in the company of three men and a woman to the temple of Ilmater.
Sometime after, word starts to circulate that the Lady had in fact been kidnapped by the Dead Crows own Red Sorceress and tortured grievously for information regarding the trial of Kahanak Habdilof. It is said that no information was leaked.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Rumors abound of a dark-skinned Banite laid low on the Tradeway outside of Beregost by a Magus in the employ of the Silver Shield.
The circumstances as described mention an attempt at conversion prior to a heated spell battle. It is said that this Banite had killed at least one other along the road prior to this encounter, with rumors of several more.
The Amnian guard was given custody of the corpse and possessions in hopes of identifying the man and rooting out any of his known associates.
The Banite was found in possession of a skull mask, a blue turban, and a claw of bane emblem.

Re: Rumors of Beregost

A man walks into the local tavern and produces an odd looking helm. He asks the barkeep if any in the area are looking for a helm of much wonder by adventurers I the area and tells the man that he should direct any to a Koryeneer Sentinel. He gives the barkeep a small bag of gold coins for his time and leaves the tavern.
///OOC This is the DM Vilethings Plot Helm I am looking for any information. PM me or contact me in game.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Four ranking officers of the Silver Shield could be seen gathering at the north end of Beregost and talking at length before making their way to the town hall. They were within the hall for well over an hour and could be seen drinking and talking merrily at the Risen Phoenix once they departed.
Only the four officers and those within the town hall would know the specifics of the meeting.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Shadowy agents are sometimes spotted floating about the small farming community at night. They scope out the guard's patrols, routines, and the frequency at which trade caravans come and go. It's no secret that the infamous and brash Red Sorceress has a desire to turn Beregost into a safe haven for criminals and ruffians, but very little has happened since the attacks on the Temple of the Morninglord's allies. The Sorceress and her allies have largely been active elsewhere in the region no doubt causing turmoil and strife wherever they tread. But now rumors are spreading of increased activity and the presence of otherwise unsavory characters roaming about despite the increased guard patrols in the community.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Whispers circulate of a group of elves bearing goods will be heading south to coastal cities for trade in the near future.
The merchants bustle every which way, cleaning up their shops and counting every coin to the last copper so they know how much they have to spend.
Nobles gossip giddily at the whispers and news as the legends of elven craftsmanship and finery reach their ears.
Children can be seen running excitedly around the city, makeshift longswords and longbows in their hands playing happily.
Tavern whispers circulate on the potential mighty artifacts and relics being escorted to each city for sale. Drunken disbelievers scoff and turn to consume another tankard, increasing their belly size.
With all the hushed whispers and excited talks circulating, one sliver of truth manages to stay the same in each: The Elves in the north are opening up their vaults.

Neschera's returned from her travels, and is once again found within the city of Beregost - garbed in the ceremonial robes of the Morninglord Lathander.
Attending to her duties inside the temple and outside, meeting the people of Beregost on the street and talking amiably with all that'd care to stop and listen to her. She's seen visiting the barracks of the garrisoned Amnian forces every now and then, most often empty handed, but occasionally carrying a small basket back and forth.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Man and a woman were seen entering town of Beregost with some companions, dragging a unconsiuos and bound woman with them. The two were wearing Black Cloaks with Silver Crosses on them. The group were seen talking to the guard and making their way to the barracks quickly after. Most people of Beregost would identify the dragged woman from wanted notes to be the infamous "The Red Sorceress".

Re: Rumors of Beregost
DM Asgorath wrote:A large crowd gathered in Beregost as the notorious criminal known as Sabel Faeria, aka the Red Sorceress, was dragged towards the stockades by the captain of the Amnian garrison.
Apparently captured by a couple of mercenaries of the Silver Shield, the Sorceress was found guilty of the charges of: Theft, Treason against Amn, Murder, Assault, Smuggling, Blasphemy against the House of the Guardian in Nashkel, and Attempted Murder of an Amnian Army Officer.
The Sorceress was executed by having the contents of a cauldron full of molten gold poured into her mouth, according to Amnian customs when dealing with notorious criminals. The leftover molten gold was then minted in Amnian currency by Thunderhammer and evenly distributed amongst the populace.
As for the Red Sorceress' disfigured, seared body, it was brought to the Temple of Lathander wherein it received a burial in holy ground.
A few splatters of solidified gold on the ground are all that is left to bear witness of the execution that took place in Beregost, alongside a small sign with 4 words written on it.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
Three men wearing Silver Shield cloaks along with an elven woman were seen entering the Rising Phoenix and heading upstairs. After some time two of the men could be seen leaving through the tavern while the third man and the elven woman were noticed leaving through the back entrance not long after. The third man's cloak was no longer bearing Silver Shield markings.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
*the writings of the Dark Chronicler leak out into the ether*
As word of the Red Sorceress's demise circulates around the town of Beregost, much of the citizenry cheers in celebration. The sorceress's trail of brutal attacks and abductions made her into a character of notable infamy, and there's no doubt many of the good folk were relieved to see her brought to justice.
The magic wielding assassin was known for having formed a massive criminal empire, and had designs on infiltrating Beregost's power structure and making it her and her allies own. Sent to this region on a mission to setup an outpost in the area, the Red Sorceress was hard at work recruiting talented killers and spies as well as forging alliances between the various nefarious factions in the region.
Even as it was rumored that the Zhentarium and the Red Wizards scoffed at her offer of partnership with the Dead Crows, Sabel was still able to gather large forces together united in a common cause more than a few times. What's even more disturbing is the rumored alliance the Red Sorceress was able to forge just before her capture by two Silver Shield agents. That development could cause major trouble for the lands of Beregost long after the sorceress’s death.
With one of the region’s most deadly assassins finally disposed of, many in the underworld wonder if the Dead Crow’s criminal empire will carry on or fall and crumble in Sabel ‘s absence. The assassins are no doubt attempting to pick up the pieces. It’s rumored that the Red Sorceress learned early in her life the utility of power and she never strayed from her ambitious path. So many feel it's only fitting that in her dogged chase to acquire more power, she ultimately allowed it to consume her in the end. A lesson many young brash sorcerers never learn throughout the history of the realms.
This chronicler can’t help but feel the legend of the Red Sorceress will continue on long past her death. The sorceress’s specter will no doubt be conjured up around spooky campfires and used to scare little children off to bed at night. The sorceress left such an impact on so many lives that it will no doubt have consequences for several generations here on out.

Re: Rumors of Beregost
White smoke was seen wafting above the Church of the Morninglord in Beregost in the late afternoon, an air of excitement about the place, and talk of "miracles", "victory" and "light after darkness." Those around seemed happy, and relieved, about something. The locals and any travelling the area might begin to notice over coming days that Dawnknight Eldarian has been seen in the streets once more, coming and going from the temple after a notable absence.
