Hi everyone,
I started here a few months ago and have been following the forums pretty steadily. (Just recently made an account.)
So I had a few questions I was wondering if you, as the player base (and maybe a DM) could answer.
My first one involves alignment shifts. I started a Chaotic Good human Rogue. It was pretty easy to RP at first, but the more I play and get a feel for his character the more it seems like he isn't such a paragon of goodness. For example; He has no qualms working with Necromancers. This happened just the other day and Sheffield (My Rogue) was far more curious and interested in the magic used and the type of control exerted over the summon than afraid or enraged. He has no regard for laws usually, unless they happen to suit his current needs. He will convince his friends (or even random adventurers) to accompany him to dangerous places only to disappear when the going gets tough (often leaving his companions to be mortally wounded). He even has a callous disregard for the dead he often finds while adventuring, preferring to loot the bodies then give any respect to the dead. In a DM event recently (Thanks Boo!) he was hired to protect a caravan headed to Waterdeep and when his employer accidentally died he immediately suggested looting the wagon and heading back to the Gate to sell the supplies, while the druid and cleric were far more interested in raising him and healing the other wounded. He also lies constantly and rarely reveals his true emotions, and has a fierce (though well hidden) problem with Paladins, Clerics, and religion in general. (though there are two notable exceptions)
All in all I get the feeling that he shouldn't be Good, though he isn't exactly evil either. To me he seems more Chaotic Neutral. (Trying hard not to be Chaotic Stupid.)
To sum it up, how would I go about getting an Alignment Shift, and is such a thing is even warranted in your opinion?
My second question involves an Alternate Character I wanted to start. I was hoping to play as a Half-Drow female from Dambrath (Cleric of Loviatar). I've read several threads on the forums here, and while they were very informative, I was hoping for a bit more information, such as;
-How exactly are Half-Drow treated in Sshamath?
-Half-Drow, from what I've read, have a "secret shame" hidden behind a wall of hostility and haughtiness. As such, how would she react to the non-drow races is Sshamath? (I'm guessing she would always show difference to Drow, though it might gall her to do so.)
-Would she be eligible for citizen-ship?
-I think I've read that Sshamath is not a matriarchal society like Mezzobarranzan. If this is the case would she believe her gender gives her a higher status than normal, or is it common knowledge for someone arriving in Sshamath?
-And finally I'm looking for some good insults for the Svirf's and Dreugar. (Think there was a tread on insults and swearing but I can't seem to remember where I read it)
Thanks in advance!
P.S : Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Re: Looking for advice
Only the DMs do alignment shifts, and only a few points each time. Often they only to this in events, if you expressely tell them where you want to be going and RP accordingly. Thus, it can take many months.

Re: Looking for advice
Halfdrow are usually threated like the prime of the scum called residents, unfortunately they share some traits with real people.
This of course depends on the toons/players you met and varies quite a bit due to lore knowledge, status of the halfdrow and/or its master, personal opinions etc.
I have not seen an official statement as yet as to citizenship but halfdrow is not drow so..
If your halfdrow is from Dambrath or Tlindhen it would more likely expect a more traditional city unless it learned otherwise prior to entry.
Yes, I have played a halfdrow in and beyond Sshamath for a long time.
Welcome to Sshamath, unfortunately we are still out of decent whips.
