Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumors circulate throughout the seedier areas of Baldur's Gate, gradually disseminating out into the outskirts amongst the lower class citizenry, regarding recent events in Triel. Without quite passing for preaching, the rumors speak of Myrkul's wrath, and are passed on by shadowy figures and disheveled looking beggars.
Linking the events in Triel with Myrkul's wrath, and whispering that perhaps no amount of combat or prayer can set the dead to rest without proper homage to the Lord of the Dead, they draw a link with the happenings in Baldur's Gates own graveyard. According to the stories, the Radiant Heart's efforts are in vain, never stopping the problem entirely. According to the rumors, the plague of undead will only grow worse, and the dead of Baldur's Gate and surrounding areas will not rest until proper homage to Myrkul is paid by the people of the Gate and the ban on his worship removed.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Word might (or might not) spread throughout Baldur's Gate and perhaps the surrounding southern regions of the arrest of a particularly poorly dressed ice mage. The detainment proceeds a rather ridiculous event, consequently leading to the man's unconscious escort to the Flaming Fist. He would be seen binded, bloodied and slung over the shoulder of the famously blonde Thedran himself.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A large crowd gathered today outside the Flaming Fist Headquarters, heralded by the calls of a Flaming Fist officer welcoming all to witness the execution of Faberge. Charged on several accounts including association with the Dead Crows assassins company, murder, and the use of necromancy, the man was bought to a mercifully swift death by the noose.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A woman in a red coat had been seen placing posters on local notice boards.
Should the rumour mill be insatisfied with that observation, it was said that under her cavalier hat she had sleek, glossy hair tied up discreetly in a braided bun. Her ears were decorated with twinkling ruby-red jewelry, and to finish up her ensemble her lips were stained with rouge of a matching shade.
Where she came up with the pins to pin the posters would have been any man's guess, though if they were with a woman or were one it would have been pointed out or observed that women sometimes keep pins in their hair. That particular mystery solved, the rumour-gatherer might try to denote her mental state at the time. One could consider the lack of a smile as the basis of a theory regarding an unhappy childhood where smiles and laughter were not the norm, for it may or may not be obvious to some that a person who doesn't smile and whistle as she works couldn't have possibly lived a gay childhood.
Truth be told, it is unclear why the rumour mill takes such an odd interest in people's activities sometimes, when they could be focused on the content of the things on the notice board instead:
We are pleased to have entered a deal with the Temple of Ilmater, to help provide provisions to those adventurously inclined. Low cost wand services are now available via the temple of Ilmater; also available through the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange. Speak to Brother Ameris Santraeger or Cheryl Mae Castillo respectively. Quick turnaround promised.
The cost is as follows:
Enchantment cost, plus the cost of materials (wand and scroll) plus 3% to the vendor.
Proceeds go either to the Temple of Ilmater or the work of the Sword Coast Commercial exchange respectively.
Cost of wand is 5000 extra but we can work with supplies if provided. Scroll cost/supply may be extra in some cases, unless supplies are provided.

A tall, silver-haired man in a full plate armor and a pure white cape has been seen talking with Flaming Fist officers inside the Gate.
Some onlookers might have been close enough to hear him urgently asking for assistance in locating Ameris Santraeger, a reknown Cleric of the Radiant Heart.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Some would notice a flurry of activity about the Temple of Ilmater in the East Gate District during the early hours of the morning. Throughout the day there are many people coming and going; most of whom displayed mixed emotions upon entrance and exit. Whispered words speak and spread of a complicated holy ritual, and the return of something lost.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
News of the latest Open Stage Night at the White Mask Theater spread through the Gate on a broadsheet.
The White Mask Theater held an Open Stage Night on the 13th of Tarsakh, taking place inside the Theater itself. Hostess for the evening was the Assistant Director, Telia Navra. The theme for the evening was an Open Theme, allowing the audience to perform any piece of their liking.
The Director, Herran Hymn, was first on the stage with a humorus song from the last play Gypsies, Tramps and Greed titled Love Potion Number Nine. Cheryl Mae Castillo of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange followed with a beautiful song on the lyre, meant to be a swan song for a character in a play she has been writing on. A Reader from Candlekeep, Za'than Za'amal, was next with an entertaining rhyme fit for scholars. A newcomer by the name of Bobbin Dash graced the stage with a rhyme about a silver hammer.
The Theater's own Felian Feyborn followed with a song straight from Arvandor, played on the guitar. Nerys, another member of the troupe as well as a skald of the Greyfox tribe, sang a symbolic song about her spirit guide and the mysterious Feywild. Next on the stage was Captain Mealir Ostirel who wishes to remind the audience "of a small little call" by song. Telia Navra concluded the evening with a sad song titled Here We Go Again.
As voting began, it was clear that the audience was very divided and that all of the performers had been excellent. More than a handful of contestants were involved in a tie but at last, Nerys was crowned the winner and received a prize sum.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Several ruffians could be seen near the fountain in the East Gate district verbally harassing various passerbys and pedestrians as they went about their business... right in plain sight of the Fist patrols no less. Rumors suggest that these ruffians, a mammoth sized female half orc, her one eyed human(or half elf, the accounts varying greatly) looking companion, and a scrawny wizard looking elf, tried to force a passing elf woman to kiss the wizards pig familiar. Eye-witness accounts say that two of the ruffians then approached a slim looking male wearing a black hooded cloak in the nearby alley... and only shortly thereafter a tremendous bang could be heard. While these witnesses would likely swear that they saw the one eyed mans unconscious body being propelled back out of the alley, and the brutish she-orc being shaken into a dazed and drooling stupor by whatever mysterious force created the bang... they claim that the slim figure in the black hooded cloak was, oddly enough, no-where to be seen after being approached by the two foolish brigands.
Witnesses claim that, after picking themselves up off the ground and licking their wounds, the would-be thugs ceased harassing folk and scurried off out the main gate.

New of the recent Open Stage Night spread in Baldur's Gate on broadsheet;
The White Mask Theater held an Open Stage Night on the 27th of Tarsakh at the Arena in Baldur's Gate. Host for the evening was Director Herran Hymn who had chosen the theme The Loving Goddesses and dedicated the Open Stage to the happenings in Triel.
First on the stage was the tiny Deacon who performed some magical tricks and asked for a volunteer from the audience, Martel Serephil stepped up. He was turned to stone, to a sword and luckily enough reverted back to his original form at the end of the performance. Amelia Durante and Merin were next with a duet accompanied by lute dedicated to lady Firehair about how she does not always get things right in matters of the heart. Former Art Director Valqis Sanejeh followed up with a song for a ship crew about her love of an axe, heavily influenced by Mulhorand. Assistant Director Telia Navra dedicated a song to the Lady of Magic titled Touch of Magic with several magical effects.
The Director himself asked for his song to not be viewed as the work of the Theater but as a personal performance which he would take full responsibility for. He then sang a song dedicated to the Joybringer and urged the audience to turn away from the Black Hand and to sing along. The audience sang along with vigor. Ameris Santrager then stepped forward along with Cecilia Lafayette, both victims of being abducted from Trial and suffering at the hands of the Zhentarim. Ameris Santraeger gave a speech of thanks to those who had supported himself, Cecilia Lafayette and Brenda Duvale. As he spoke against the Zhentarim and the Black Hand, Ameris also urged the Zhentarim to recall the times before their sins and that there still was a choice, that the Broken God is forgiving.
The audience was moved by Ameris Santraeger's speech and he was awarded a prize sum and declared the winner. Kregan Mordani, a supporter of the arts, added to the prize and furthered offered a fire opal to reflect Ameris Santraeger's burning heart. Kregan Mordani then gifted small tokens to two performers; a golden ring to Telia Navra, likening its shine and sparkle to that of her magic and song. Valqis Sanejeh was gifted silver ring, as a soft and shimmering as the waters she sang of.
"I don't want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic."

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumours spread that a local priest of Ilmater, Ameris Santraeger, gave a speech in thanks to those who had rallied round to aid him, Sister Brenda and Cecilia of the Order of the Radiant Heart after their capture and execution by the Zhentarim. He went on to speak of his hope for a better world, and spoke against the Zhentarim, appealing to their better nature.
