Speach outside the tavern by Israe'anna about Dev'lin

Unread post by Israe »

*Israe'anna would start speaking loudly, to gather a crowd.*
"So! Dev'lin, the fools who have gotten so many of you riled up! Let it be known they want a fight, and a fight they shall recieve! Know that certain organisations have the people of Sshamaths interest at heart! Know that while Sshamaths laws protect Dev'lin, no corner outside of the borders of Sshamath will be safe for these fools!
I will personally see to it that their arrogance is punished, and that the ways of Sshamath remain the ways of trade and education, of magic and power! We will not let a failed Lolthite house come here and attempt to do a show of force! Let it be known that I hereby claim responsibility for any and all hardships their house is to soon to suffer, and that it is done in the name of the People of Sshamath! To keep this short their actions and words speak of wanting a challenge of power and to have Lolths favor, I will show them just how wrong they are. I suggest all citizens avoid traveling with Dev'lin fools, and that you stay away from conflicts that will undoubtedly occur as a result of their foolishness. As the Faern Valshar tought me, I too shall teach the Dev'lin! Be warned, and be confident, these fools will be humbled!"
*As she keeps it short, she would quickly turn and disappear into the crowd once again, moving about her business.*

Daug watches the speech; as the subject becomes clear, he raises his mask, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Izzrar looks over from the bazaar as the crowd forms around Israe'anna, sliding his way over he catches the latter half of her speech, listening without showing any emotion. After gauging the response of the crowd he slips silently away towards the darkwoods.
I never make mistakes…I thought I did once; but I was wrong.

A hooded masked figured watches the speach and take mental note to speak with the orator in the near future.
Fear is the mind killer;
I will not fear;
I will face my fear,
and let it pass trough me.

Could the city overreact over the intrusion of Llolthians taking advantage of laws disregarded. Drunken guards missing shifts and posts?*Terithin glowers quietly as the specatcle ensues*

"And I thought I was common as an orphan"*his sarcastic mind muses.* "Whipping a mob into a frenzy. The Dev'lin are exuberant Llolthians unfamilair with the cities proud traditions and laws. They exploit a loss of order from guards passing about their business; gambling and drinking instead of enforcing our sacred laws. What do the citizens expect."*he snickers and puts a pinch of perfumed salts in his nose as an orc and duergar pass in front of him.*

"Would be to everyones advantage if one of these Dev'lin was maimed with the loss of a foot or hand. A tongue or all their tongues. Then we can all go back to our business and they can conclude theirs at Llolth's temple and leave. Hard as a cleric of The Champion to watch this show. Llolthians arrogantly passing the city as lords while guards and the Conclave noticing weeks after their arrival"*he muses again to himself. *he clenches the sack of ash at his side and mumbles a praver possibly a curse in an archaic language*

ooc I enjoy roleplaying with this goup. I genuinely found the whispers in glaura's creepy and interesting. I look forward to seeing a positive outcome where roleplaying steps are taken to curb their IC behavior.

*Dilarra listens at a distance, hearing things clearly and watching the details from her perch, hidin in the shadows.

Thoughts of times past near the city of Shyndrylyn, of two Qu'ellars she had come to know well, Dabel'kith and Zau'afin flooded her mind.

As the words arrogant Lothites stream her consiousness, flashbacks of being hunted because of the casual lies of a Yath'abban streak past her eyes. How many drow had fallen to her axes and blades because they wanted to curry the favor of Lolth's priestesses. More then Dilarra would admit.

And yet here she was, a dreadguard of Qu'ellar Zau'afin, protector of the Ilharess Zau'afin for two generations.

It was strange to see the tables turned on the servants of Malla Lolth now. There did not seem to be much advantage to Dilarra at this time to side with either the city or the new Qu'ellar. But it was a good lessen in understanding how the city operated. Dilarra would watch carefully and learn what she could from this event.*

Lurking in the nearby shadows, hidden to all but most observant, a darkly hooded and masked jalil listens to Israe'anna's speech in silence.

Observing the scene distanced from the others, Arch-Necromancer Tyv'lael cannot restrain a faint, creepy chuckle, made even creepier by her metallic mask. She turns her head to her right, whispering to apparently nobody.

"It seems that Sshamath's new guests have naut understood how things work in the city. Looks like the School of Necromancy will soon have many new, fresh test subjects."

Another faint chuckle would quickly follow her words.

"Let's go. There is work to be done."

The Arch-Necromancer then turns around and walks away, her enchanted cloak of the finest silk ominously waving like a flag despite the lack of wind.
"Good is but a mere platitude, while Evil is criticism. The immoral one earns his place in the great order of things by acting as a counterpart to the moral one. He shows us that things could go differently. He gives us a different point of view." - Joseph Conrad

*Terithin slips out of the crowd and returns in new attire posing as a rich merchant. He speaks out softly and in an anonymous voice*

"Financial punishments must be levied against this sacrilige."*He carefully recalls the inventory of the Dev'lin including the arsenal of weaponry and armors on their persons. The pack containing their currencies of particular interest.*
"Taken into custody and all posessions confiscated. If they dare to bear arms the punishments need stand as a reminder to other guests of the sanctified City of Sshamath."*He quietly listens for signs of approval from the crowd*

*He elbows a wine besotted Gnome hastily dressed in colored spidersilks posing as his assistant. The gnome begins reciting the memorized script Terithin paid him to recite.*

"These careless visitors disrupted my business venture. My customers refuse to continue transacting the business contract. They say the contract as written is for business in the city of Sshamath. They say because of Dev'lins disruption the contract is void as the intimidating nature of the visitors broke the in progress transaction betwixt us. If they are allowed to leave the city with anything more than undergarments and humbled pride, me and my associates will take our business to a city more conducive to trade. A city that enforces punishments upon transgressors so traders such as myself can conclude business unintimidated."

*Terithin once again waits for signs of approval from the crowd*
