Question on possible reroll

Unread post by Ibnshaitan »

So I built a Dwarven Defender...was stoked. Planned out 8 F 22 DD. I didn't think this would be a problem and the Dwarven Defender Damage Reduction feat in the image says that you get an extra 3 DR for every 4 levels after 10. Then at level 19 I found out I could not have more than 10 DD levels. The toon is now basically useless because it cant be multi classed further and is all Defensive. So he wont be a great tank and wont be able to do much in the way of damage. As the Feat was misleading (read wrong) is there any chance of a reroll rather than cashing him in for half exp? I am post this at the direction of DM Dhampir.

Thank you

The usual stance DMs have towards issues where a player's build doesn't turn out the way they anticipated it would is:
General Server Rules wrote:– No Character Rebuilds unless under rare circumstances (corrupted bic, etc.). It is up to you to make sure you build the right Character. De-levels are permitted. No refunds for reset and crash deaths; no refunds for bugged bodies.
General Server Rules

Since the feat description is wrong though, if you ask a DM who isn't busy with something else to start you over at the point you started taking Dwarven Defender levels and refund all the exp they took, that's fine. This would still lock you to that character from level 5 onward I suspect, but you could toss in other classes this way if you'd like.

Or you can use the RCR npc and try something new entirely.

It is unfortunate that Obsidian just copied over the feat descriptions directly from NWN1. In NWN1 with a level 40 character cap that feat description is correct. In NWN2 with its 30 level cap the maximum number of PRC levels is limited to 10 per PRC (for those PRCs which can gain 10+ levels; some are limited to 5 or 3).

This same rule applies to Palemaster AC gain, Weaponmaster attack and damage gain, Arcane Archer arrow enhancement, and whichever other PRCs would normally continue gaining benefits past level 10.

Unfortunate that you have been mislead because of this.
