An encounter with a Duergar

Training had been going well of late, scores of deep Dwarves had fallen to his blade, it almost seemed like their numbers were dwindling, Asura stepped into a room within the mines and three came in behind him, infront another bigger dwarf stepped out from behind a wall.
"it ends here Dark elf, you will never leave this room." the expression on his face was one anger and despair.

Asura did not waste words he simply took his stance and muttered a small prayer (Divine Power) energy and strength flowed through him, he emptied his mind of all thought as he had been trained, the master always said "Though your heart speaks with pride to represent your clan, be still and let all vanity drain. An empty vessel travels most lightly".

The three Dwarves surrounded him they're notched axes at the ready, the bigger one gave out a roar and they charged as one. Asura held his stance until the last possible moment, the first one reached him and Asura uncoiled like a viper 'lotus parts the water' the first Dwarf blinked as he looked down at two feet of steel lodged in his chest, Asura did not have time to savor his kill he quickly pulled out the blade as a Dwarf came running up behind, Asura knelt on one knee 'sheathing the blade' the Dwarf's momentum ran him onto Asura's blade which was protruding from under his arm the creatures wild swing narrowly missing Asura's head as he knelt. The third assailant ran at Asura with guttural roar 'Parting the waves' Asura's sword cut the Dwarf from the groin up to his chin the creature collapsed in a heap of blood.

The bigger dwarf watched as his brethren fell, Asura got his feet and assumed the stance again.

"why cant you just leave us in peace!?" the dwarf demanded.

Asura spoke then. "For there to be peace there must first be a semblance of equality, there can be no peace between the hunter and the prey."

The dwarfs features began to contort into one of indignation, "is it not enough that we have been forced to become the slaves of the Illithid!? and now you persecute us too!?"

Asura allowed himself a small smile "the avalanche has already started, it is too late for the pebbles to vote".

Asura uncoiled like a viper.
