Background: Malar’s druids do not often form groves. The competition among them is fierce and savage, and only a very powerful leader can hold a grove together. After the violent dissolution of one such grove, Roan’s savage mother left her native wood, alone and with child.

Under her harsh tutelage, he learned to hunt and the way of the forest. Malar, she taught him, was not separate from nature, but nature itself. The will to dominate, to survive, to hunt as natural as the earth and sky. She chose her quarry indiscriminately, prey or predator, and would not abide trespassers.

Roan often chafed at her aggression, and so when she died, her guts spilled by a boar, he softened some. His desire for companions other than woodland beasts brought him to the sword coast, a land almost as wild as his home.

Goals: Roan is aimless, he travels and hunts and fights, with little in mind but to grow in power and one day lead a grove.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Roan’s informal education as a druid has had some unpleasant effects. He has limited control of his shape shifting and often, unwillingly, shape shifts into a beast.
