I've been looking for this for a while, but is there a tutorial somewhere to use the formatting of text of the client extension?
Things like making a new line in your text... HOW?!

Re: Client extension help
You mean like we do with songs and stuff, so it looks all poetic?
Well, I for one prepare everything in notepad, then copy/paste it into the client extension.

Things like that, yes.Deathgrowl wrote:You mean like we do with songs and stuff, so it looks all poetic?

Could you show an example of that?

Re: Client extension help
Uh... I'm not sure what you mean.
This is line one.
This is line two.
Copy both of them, and paste into client extension and it comes out as:
<your character>: This is line one.
This is line two.
If you also want to learn more about adding colours and stuff, that's not really the client extension.
Colour is <C=name of colur>text</C>.
Example:
<C=red>this line of text would be red in NWN2</C>
Keep in mind that the C does have to be capitalized. <c=red>text</c> would not work.
You can also use hex code like on the forums. <C=#ff0000>this would be red, for instance</C>
Then you have bold, italic and underline text:
<b>bold text</b>
<i>italic text</i>
<u>underlined text</u>
It's smart to place these commands in right order as well. Otherwise you'll run into some problems. For example
Lets say you want to write this:
This line of text is italic and yellow, except the word red, which is not yellow.
The right way to do that in NWN2 would be:
<i><C=yellow>This line of text is italic and yellow, except the word </C><C=red>red</C><C=yellow>, which is not yellow.</C></i>

Just as an example, here's one of the songs in Nëa's song book:
This is line one.
This is line two.
Copy both of them, and paste into client extension and it comes out as:

Just as an example, here's one of the songs in Nëa's song book:
Code: Select all
<C=#cc99ff><i>I have drowned and so I
Know all there's to know</i></C>
<i><C=#cc99ff>About</C> <C=#bb77ff><b>everything</b></C>
<C=#bb77ff><b>Everything </b></C><C=#cc99ff>there is...</C></i>
<C=#cc99ff><i>I stretch myself
through time and space</i></C>
<C=#cc99ff><i>Wherever and forever I stay
And I leave all the same</i></C>
<i><C=#77aaff>And if you want to come to <C=#5599ff><b>sea...</b></C></i>
<i><C=#77aaff>If you want to come to <C=#5599ff><b>sea...</b></C></i>
<i><C=#aaeeff><b>I'll</b></C> <C=#77aaff>be here to greet you</C></i>
<i><C=#77aaff>There to greet you...</C></i>
<i><C=#77aaff>Here to greet <b>yoo</C><C=#6699ff>oou</C><C=#5588ff>uuu...</b></C></i>Laitae Lafreth, became Chosen of Mystra, former Great Reader of Candlekeep
