How do you time Expose Weakness

I just got Expose Weakness on my first non-sneaker and I'm finding it a little challenging to time it so that I always hit expose weakness on my highest AB attack. This is particularly difficult in boss fights where it is most important.

I find that after using an item like a wand I can hit EW and it won't fire even though the action is queued up.

I would like some help from the more experienced exposers out there.

I wait until I mistakenly target Selande's character with my weaponmaster, then I click it.

Works everytime.

It's fairly easy to do. When you see an enemy that you want to engage, just target the enemy and use Expose Weakness. This will make your first attack apply Expose Weakness. Then keep an eye on the action cooldown (the little icon that shows your current action, and what other actions are in queue). When it reaches the bottom of the icon, use Expose Weakness again a few times.

Alternatively you can just spam Expose Weakness, which will queue it up long enough to last into the next round and apply to the first attack again.

I found that it's very hard to get EW to fire on the first flurry when you have haste active and when coming out of HIPS. Other combinations may mess it up to, like using items.

It's to bad the new EW replacement didn't work out, losing the autohit was worth the perfect innate timing the replacement offered.

I know that both knockdown and EW not always fire when you queue it up only once. As Selande said, button mashing works. I do that on Nëa from stealth, then hips again when the cooldown is off.

I also had a fighter with EW once, and when I started battles with him I would just really spam the EW button, and continue to spam it during the fight. If you start your fight with an EW and you've managed to queue up more of them for when the EW cooldown is off, it'll always be on the first attack as the cooldown is one round.

I find that works well, but when you combine it with haste, it just skips the first flurry most of the time I find, especially when coming out of HIPS.

Don't skip haste.

Just click your SWORD in the queue when you have EW activated, it'll fire EW right away if it's stuck.

It's not that haste get's EW stuck, it just makes it wait till second flurry. I played alot of WoW, so I know how to button spam and it doesn't help with this particular problem.

Don't skip haste though, it's still worthwhile.

In my memory it doesn't skip your first flurry if you EW on your first attack with haste. O_o

It seems spotty. I can get EW on the first flurry with haste on, but it seems to skip when I kill one enemy and start on another or right after I use my haste boots. Sometimes if I tap the button really fast it works even right after I use my boots or when I just killed an enemy. So far the button spam seems to be the best option. Not 100% but better than I was doing. I'm close to 100% with my boss fights as long as I don't need to use any useables.

If anyone else has perspectives, I'd like to hear them.
