A dark figure scoured the lands, walking mile after mile in search of each and every poster that could be found. On each located, the same message is neatly written beneath the original text...

*On patrols in the wilds of Northern Amn many days now, Wai Li is probably not much seen around the Temple of the Guardian unless meeting with the Head Watchknight or others at the temple, shortly interrupting her patrols in the south. She also is said by some who may speak with her to grow out of touch on most matters of current events as she attends to her immediate duties, perhaps not even seeing flyers of events held on regional matters left in public areas of the Amnian towns she does pass through amidst her duties.*

An Open Letter to the People of Amn

We all know the history. Beregost was remade by it. Tensions between Amn and Baldur's Gate have always been high, and culminated in the tragedy we all remember in 1347. We should not forget . . . but we should not linger, either. I believe trade is balm that will heal the rift between the two people's. Money holds no allegiances - it is simply power made physical. Northern Amn need not be forgotten and left as warning to the horrors of war. You are the center, and you can bring two nations to prosperity once more. And with them, your fortunes also rise.

Amn prefers to keep its presence concentrated in the South. Without a working mine, Nashkel has little to offer the world. Without trade, Beregost is too large to thrive. Business must start again between Amn and Baldur's Gate, if we are going to bring recovery to these two places. A cleric can smell someone's breath and know the condition of their liver. I am a merchant, and I can tell you by walking down the market what harvest had been good, and what had been disappointing. Trade is the veins of Civilization, and gold its blood. Without a healthy economy, a place suffers. I can help bring you prosperity, and I can help you heal the hurt between two nations at the same time.

Support me in my bid to the Grand Dukes of Baldur's Gate, help me show them I can turn their misfortunes and ours into power. I could build a branch in Nashkel, to direct the flow of Amn's wealth to the north. With money flowing into it, Nashkel need not have any natural resources to export, not when it imports and exports power itself. Beregost needs no longer continue wilting; not when caravans travel north and south generously once more. We can rebuild Nashkel and Beregost to thrive again, but the way we do it must be through trade. There is no power greater.

*A simple flier is posted in various locations around Nashkel*

"Looking for a guide to show some newcomers around the town of Nashkel and surrounds. We are looking for someone who is familiar with not only the lands, but the monsters roaming the region. Willing to pay gold. Seek out Jorick at the Belching Dragon Tavern."

//If anyone is interested in playing tour-guide and maybe some RP-adventuring in the surrounding regions with a party of two, we will need the guide for tomorrow, 15th Oct, between 11pm and 2am EST. PM me with your IC responses if willing to help out. :)

A large group of weary and weather worn travellers return from a long expedition to a far off mountain peak, arriving late in the waning daylight of Nashkel. Among their number are carried the bodies of two well known dwarven mountaineers, Aselil Strongspike and Dorbur Overmountain. The prayers of a local Aurilite priestess, their guide through the mountains, are invoked and after a time the two are helped to their feet. Bags of gold are dolled out along with badges before the group begins to splinter off in different directions.

A large man in leathers and a half orc walk slowly to the closest taven, The Belching Dragon and proceed to down several meads at their table. Vudish the half blood, binges on par with even the heartiest drinkers known in the lands as they speak before they too part. A short while later the man returns and still slightly inebriated, orders whatever they have going on the stew pot. To the locals that inquire about the journey he mentions a massive frost giants camp up that way, a gnome guide who was nothing but 'a damned coward', several blood thirsty yetis and finally "Lemme tell ya, when ya choosin' a guide, know who ya choosin'. Bu' we scaled Auril's Crown an' tha's 'er name now. First up an' never goin' back. Could see Athkatla like a glow an' the Sea o' Swords. 'Sides the gals I know, might 'ave been the mos' beautiful thin' I ever seen. Bu' as barren as a nuns womb."

Ang listens to the locals own stories they've got to tell looking happy to have hot food and drinks even buying rounds for everyone once he's eaten three solid plates. He stays until closing, sitting with two old men and laughing along with their tales.

Finally kicked out (but with a parting goodwill mead from the tavern owner) he stands in the quiet and the cold while the two old men with a mouthful of teeth between them, sway and stumble off to their homes in the dark. His gaze is drawn upward and west but there is nothing to see, just low clouds obscuring everything.

"Nevah again" he says with the bottle raised up in a final cheer to Aurils Crown, a name some tiefling had come up with on the spot. His feet shuffle briefly this way and that before he makes his way in search of the Northern Lights Inn.

Masquerade Ball

Unread post by Church of Lathander »

A poster is put up in several highly-visible areas around Beregost, the Friendly Arm Inn, Baldur's Gate, and Nashkel. It describes a masquerade ball, to be held in the township of Beregost, on Marpenoth 31!

*Rumors are in and around Nashkel, that Drew Latonar has not been seen in Amn for several weeks. After another rumor that he had been seen entering the Temple of the Guardian with a look of sadness almost to the point of anger, wearing the cloak of Helm. But leaving without it dawned, only a simple powder blue cloak draped across his back. Did this mean he was no longer a Watcher? And if so, was it by choice, did he lose his faith in the Watchers, or worse yet, in Helm himself? Or was it that he was relieved from his duties as a Watcher in the Nashkel Temple of the Guardian? No word is spoken of it by the Watchers or the High Priest of Helm, publicly, as of yet.*

*A somewhat tall, young, and very strong looking Aasimar with pointed Elven ears has been seen hanging about Beregost as of late. Polite, kind, and hardworking he offers to help the folks of the town for a room to sleep in or a meal to eat, and while working out in the fields or in a barn he'd keep a sword sheathed on his person, ready to chase away or apprehend any foolish bandit trying to make away with the produce of the town.

At nights he'd spend a couple coins sharing ales and beers with those he'd have worked with that day in the tavern, chatting them up over what seems to be the talk of the town; the constant bandit problem. He'd very carefully talk with various folks, seemingly interested in the people's opinion of building a wall to protect the town. He'd speak in a very neutral tone on this, trying to speak of the Amnish government as little as possible and perhaps leaving them out of the conversations all together.

Essentially, the man seems genuinely interested in helping Beregost defend itself from the bandits plaguing them, and is trying to garner the people's interest in building a stone wall for defense!*

A courier in the livery of the Order of the Radiant Heart delivers a message to the Temple of the Guardian in Nashkel, more specifically addressed to Watchknight Asperan. The letter is rolled up and sealed in wax with the stamp of a phoenix rising from flame.

A Templar in a yellow cloak can be seen making his way to the House of the Guardian in Nashkel.

Once inside, that same Templar presents a rolled parchment with an official seal from the Song of the Morning to the clergy.

"From Knight-Commander Al'maire," the Templar states in a gruff voice before he places a fist to his heart and whirls on a heel to exit.

A band of two Watchknights accompanied by a Guardian traverse south through the passage in the Cloud Peaks, they journey into the heart of Amn, Athkatla, tasked by the Head Watchknight of the Everwatch to deliver folders containing the a number of documents to representatives of the Council of Six. It is stressed the importance of maintaining their armour to ceremonial standards and to conduct themselves formally in presenting the folders, by the Head Watchknight to the trio before they had departed.
