Mithril Armor and models

Unread post by LordLP »

Any DM's feel like taking the time and listing off all the possible model numbers for the different mithril armor? (That or add armor editing to the JPEG mod).

I've ran into this issue a few times where the DM asks for the # - and then promptly informs you that # isn't available. Sometimes you get lucky and they'll go though the whole spectrum for you on there avatar - but that's got to be taking time away from other players issues.

I believe only Chain Shirts, Breast Plates, and Full Plates are fully synched.

If you have a special appearance in mind, just take a screenshot, and I'll make a mithral armor with it. (Then a DM only needs to get it in game, and trade to the armor you got.)

I could do that as well, but chainmail, chain shirt, and full plate are not fully equal to there 'normal' counterpart - model numbers are artificially restricted. Hence the post.

He's offering to make a custom appearance I believe.

Monty actually is very good at it too. He made my mithral banded mail quite a while ago - it looks FLY!

Can this style or another style be added to the appearance list for DM changer?

Really there is only one style, a gaudy silvery thing...

Mithral Banded Mail (AC 6, DexAC 3) is better than normal full plate (AC 8, DexAC 1)when you are waiting for your mithral full plate (AC 8, DexAC 3)to drop. It gives the same total AC, it is lighter, gives better armor check penalties, and the most important for those Battle Casting Bards and Warlocks it also counts as medium armor.

Please can some more styles be added, just to have the option of change?

Something darker or evil and not shiny paladin-like. Maybe, one that is rough like a barbarian would wear as well.

Just to revive this issue - with the help of a very patient DM Nilbog this evening we determined that the Mithral BP models don't seem to synch with anything. There is 66 of them in all, and which is what is a complete mystery to me. If anyone knows of a way to look at them without a poor DM modeling them all, I'm all ears!

Garet Sunder - Monk of the Fallen Star
Duncan Thorne - Sellsword and follower of the Red Knight
Vivian Blake - Wheeler and Dealer (Merchant)

That is correct - none of them are fully synced, just didn't want to argue the point. Script has to be pretty strait forward - posting a conversion spreadsheet would save DM's and Players a lot of time.

Or add it to JPEG's mod.

Are there no models available by Maltz's special service for Mithril full plates?

If they have stats, a DM needs to change them.

Indeed, this was my issue, thanks.

So how are we to determine which model number to request in such circumstances?
I get the impression from these posts, that the numbers are not in line with normal armors.

Mithril armors use the same model types as the base model. So Heavy Mithril Armor use Heavy Armor models, Medium Mithril Armor use Medium Armor models, and Light Mithril Armor use Light Armor models.
