Background Summary:

Detailed but incomplete: http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=41924

General summary:

Birth till 1331 DR: Sheltered child of successful farmers who showed no traits of other worldly ancestry. Moderate sized farm with animals. Her loving and devote parents educated her in writing, business matters, and how to run the farm.

1331-1337 DR: Ran off with a wandering priest of sharess named Clint. They traveled together for over two years until the pair, now both priests, sought a temple to call home. During the four years that followed Clint and Felicienne became increasingly at odds until Clint left the temple for good.

1338-1340 DR: A dying halfling named Flannagan gave his caregiver, Felcienne, all his worldly posessions including an empathic dagger cursed by bhaals magic. Though she fought against it constantly, her will was eventually broken and she began killing. Randomly at first, until she fell into a private assassin for hire. To maintain what was left of her sanity, an internal compromise of sorts, she took on contract for those who were not innocents. She kills an innocent in 1340 DR and in a fit of rage she destroys the dagger.

1340-1343: Drifts, alone, consumed with what she had done she gets by from day to day as a pickpocket and lady of the evening for a year. As her mental state slowly improves some form of ambition returns and she sets up a small massage parlour. Being often ill treated by her customers she remains depressed, tormented, introverted until she meets a highly charismatic man named Myron, a priest of Leira. She knows he lies to her, but she does not care, he makes her feel special, loved, important. She converts and lives the life of a swindler and pickpocket, a pair in tandem. After two years she realizes that she does not love him, though he is consumed with her, in love with her. Fearing what had happened with Clint, she leaves him.

1343-1349: She becomes an adrenaline junky. Traveling from place to place, picking pockets, gambling, cheating, swindling. She impersonates city officials, noble's daughters, wealthy merchants, nobles themselves, criminals, all to scam others out of earned riches. At times overly elaborate and unnecessarily complicated schemes to make significant amounts of wealth which she tends to spend quickly on whatever catches her eye or just gives it away on a whim to those who appear needy. On occasion she took on persona's for the experience of it or to amuse herself, attempting to bury deep the horrors in her memory. She drinks regularly and uses poisons. Everything to chase the next high. Life high or chemically induced to counteract the deep sadness and self hatred that slowly has been ebbing away as the years pass. She gets tired of this life, looking for something new and exciting and arrives eventually in the city of baldur's gate.

1349 DR to present: -=Major events that shaped Felicienne=-

She arrives on the coast and is pretty much universally accepted, subconsciously dressing and acting how she wishes to be and does not realize it. Bored she takes on the life of the adventurer. Her first friends on the coast she makes is Bolgar and Roscoe. She confides in Bolgar and Roscoe. Elaria showing no romantic interest in either as she is not physically attracted to dwarves nor halflings. Roscoe and her hit if off and he reveals at the time he was a deadcrow. Elaria makes it clear those days are long since over with. Roscoe passes along the information to Dens Bros and Sabel among others. Sabel continues to take interest in her, saving Elaria's life on a few occasions until Sabel's death where Elaria watches her death at the hands of amnish guards.

Nazeera decides to attempt to corrupt Elaria, turn her back into the killer and emo type she once was long ago. Nazeera claims Elaria is of the same bloodline, curious and really without much choice she entertains Nazeera's company. Elaria forced to play the dangerous game of plotting a much more powerful entities destruction. Nazeera weaves her spells on Elaria, influencing her until Nazeera attempts to use suggestions that Elaria eat people, grievously offended and horrified, Nazeera continued on to mention she worked for a drow matron. Due to recent past experience Elaria hated drow about as much as a Shevarshian. Elaria schemed, tricking Nazeera into a bloody bout of FTB mutual torture while Elaria collected Nazeera's blood plotting to end her and see if they were actually related. She approached Hoihe Dacino and Xeno of candlekeep about this, but Nazeera was never heard from again. ((Asgoroth took a break and it never resumed))

Doubting herself, she speaks with Valiant Blincraft a number of times. He reassures her, lifts her up in her dark moments and a bond is formed. Tragically months later Valiant falls, and Elaria is helpless to stop it. In the end Valiant does give up his anger, but not until well after the fact. Elaria blames Alison for it. Given Alison's friendliness with Ambrose in Triel, her second hand reported two-faced nature with Felian and Herran in the white mask, her irrational behavior and anger when Elaria played a trick on Felian, and couple other things. She becomes certain Alison took advantage of Valiant's condition leading him down a dark path , while Elaria was trying to save him from himself. Since then Elaria and Valiant had a falling off and their relationship is professional, cordial. It still weighs upon her.

Elaria fell into old habbits again after meeting Awnrette. She found a sort of a kindred soul in her, and began to pickpocket once more and get into mischief. Mealir Ostriel happened to be the target of multiple pickpocketings. Once dressing up as a commoner and pickpocketing the ship's captain she immediately became guilty realizing the captain was generous soul. She offered to buy him a drink and admitted to her thefts. Citing some past sailing history, Mealir mentioned he could use someone of her skill set. She found that a bit odd, but she found the half-elf charismatic in a non-romantic way and set off on a course that ended up being completely unexpected by her. The crew ends up being murdered and Elaria nurses them to health in the temple of tempus the experience and counseling form a strong bond between them all.

The Mystic blades. Nelwynn and Elaria meet on an adventure, she finds Nelwynn likeable, charismatic and they decide to form an adventuring company. Under his charge of course  . They share many adventures and have a lot of fun doing so. The company gets large, but over time, Elaria feels more and more distanced from the group. The aims of it's senior members, while not evil are largely self-motivated and personally unfulfilling. Elaria being the morale compass of the group. After some weeks of on and off fighting, some of her friends and 'hirelings' expressing strong doubts about him, Luke Darius says aloud 'no contract is worth this' and walks off breaking up with her and resulting conversations afterwards with others as well as Luke, she realizes she was being used far more then she believed. To what extent, she did not know. She tells Nelwynn she is going to leave the blades which he tries to talk her out of, but in truth Elaria just needs a change. Nelwynn shortly afterwards leaves the coast and is not heard from again in months.

Wai Li. Wai Li takes an interest in Elaria and she offers to guide her, the two become friends and they value each others opinion. Elaria becomes involved with matters in the temple of helm.

She comes into possession of the ring of bards will. While the magic item does strengthen one's will, there was also a psychological effect. A confidence and belief in one's resolve.

Elaria, depressed, stressed, over many different issues, feeling alone she meets up with Rilae by chance. They have a heart warming conversation that eases Elaria's burden. Elaria later returns the favor and they become better friends.

Gentleman tom in the temple of Tymora gives a reading, which unfolds Elaria's past. Two cards are drawn for the future and another on a later date. This gives an invigorated sense of purpose. Later she comes across an artifact of Beshaba. Using her unique skillset she dupes the priest, but many hardships to follow, one bad omen after another, believing she was doomed and accepting her life as likely forfeit, they prevail. Further strengthening her resolve.

She decides to start over in a sense. Felcienne Ogdon Ta'Igris returns to her roots, abandoning her decade long favorite guise. Elaria. She leaves the priesthood for the moment leaving it open to return to the faith in the future thanks to her long conversation with Meren, former priest of sharess and sunite. She still honors Sharess, just not as a priestess.

Goals:

Guilds directly involved with:

Mystic Blades now defunct.
Helm, temple of naskhell, Minor advisor. Resigned on friendly terms
Whistling Wanderess , steward
Nature's faithful. Active participant

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
She has elven ancestry up the line. Her elven great-great grandmother (unnamed) and siblings, other descendants, and even parents could well be alive, but Felicienne is completely unaware of them. Felicienne's parents have both passed on.

She lost her true sense of self a long time ago being a different person and adopting a faux personality on a weekly basis for years. She has been trying to find herself the past two years and as of recent finally has a good idea of who she is as a person.

Being constantly afflicted, tortured she became obsessed with pain shortly after possessing the cursed dagger, and in the five years or so that followed had occasional masochistic bouts. Feeling the physical pain to replace the agonizing mental pain. As such, she presently does not avoid physical pain or fear it like a normal person would.

Felicienne is very strong willed and confidant. From the years it took recovering her sanity, possessing an artifact known as ring of Bard's will, and the realizations made from the tarrot card reading and the following destruction of an ancient artifact of power under dire omens.

She finds the typical straight forwardness and transparency of dwarves refreshing. She is fond of elves, having many elven and half-elven friends and is curious of their way of life. She is more or less neutral about halflings as a race.

Cienne tends not to trust fellow tieflings, nor half-orcs until it is well earned. She outright despises drow and orcs though she is very open minded thanks to her friendship with Rilae and her worship of the dark maiden.

She holds special contempt in her heart for Bhaalists considering the cursed dagger. While that is not out of the ordinary as almost every sane individual would despise a ritual serial killer, she actively despises anyone who knowingly befriends or even tolerates any known Bhaalist or agent of Shar since Shar agents often attempt to corrupt followers of Sharess.
