First Name: Opeekep (meaning "Young Cheese" in hin. When he got older he simply dropped the young part instead of re-naming himself)
Last Name: Honorshadow (Originally Gourdfellow as his family were pumpkin farmers but was changed when he decided not to follow the family business)
Appearance: Opee is slightly above average in height and thinly built. He wears earthy brown toned garments with a overly- filled back pack. When his brown hood is pulled back, one would see a mess of wavy, reddish-brown hair on his head and similarly colored mutton chops on the sides of his face. His skin is slightly tanned from being outside almost constantly during the day. He is quick and agile as to be expected, even considering the ample backpack he carries. His other apparent gear is a sling with the usual bag of bullets, a hand axe and a dagger. He favors earth tones from his armor, hood and other garb. Other than that, the only notable aspect about Opee is the way he talks… he almost always says sentences with a triple rhyme. There are a few phrases he does not do this with and, depending on the structure of the rhyme and the words used, he might rhyme more.

Auto-Biography
The brown garbed halfling decides to respond to the inquiries about himself, “Opee be me, the Dapper trapper sapper! Young fun in sun, glossed the moss in Pros. No spelunkin’ but dunkin’ the pumpkin. Four for chore, mother brother and other. Dad had glad!” He laughs and gives those within ear shot a moment to try to determine what the rhymes mean.
He continues with the story. “My shoulder older and bolder, not the snot tot!” He grins. “Mother smother brother,” he shrugs and thumbs his chest, “Bond beyond fond. Hooker cooker booker. Fix and kicks the mix. Cared for the bared fare.”
His face turns solemn. “Night of fright and light. Alone in home with tome. Rain crane insane. Bright white light and boom of doom in room… roof poof and oof…” He looks to the fire in the center of the benches. “Thatch catch as match… smoke poke and choke… dire fire higher.” He looks up at the faces watching him. “Snot tot not … mind to find behind… burn and churn no turn. Father gather from pother… mother smother, no brother. …. Lost cost in holocaust.” Looks back to the fire.
“Rain remain the pain… no house so louse and douse… bright light all night… belt her shelter melt her.” Adjusts his collar slightly and sighs. “Forlorn born in morn… rubble then stubble trouble. Chagrin men see hin… offer proffer to cougher. Wetter begetter let her. Leave the bereave to grieve. Opee be the sea… witty in gritty city.”
Opee seems to lose some of the seriousness in his face but his eyes still seem to hold a melancholy gaze, “Wander yonder and ponder… cutter mutter butter. Found sound hound… skill fill the bill. Mirthful worth fill search hill, masks asks tasks… Rock and sock and lock from bandit mandate scanned late. Trap bap my cap and now brain maintain the pain.” He points to his head right above his left ear, “Spoken token broken, chime and rhyme all time...” He shrugs, “Get fret and upset... but hope the scope with no rope.”
He waits for those around to catch up then smiles and becomes more animated with his hands as he continues, “Then hin and kin! Street meet and greet. Goldie hold me and sold me… then work for lurk and jerk.” He shrugs, “Zabbu grab new bad view. Less mess best… clip ship and dip. Settle the mettle and kettle.. found around sound. To Coast and boast the most. Goal of toll and poll... hin grin and win!
The translation:
My name is Opee, I’m skilled with making, removing and setting traps. In my youth, I grew up in Pros. I wasn’t into exploring or adventuring but I helped on my families pumpkin farm. There were four of us working the farm; my mother, brother and my father who was very proud of his family.
I had more responsibilities being the older brother and my younger brother was always into mischief. My mother always coddled him when he did wrong. I still loved him greatly. I would mend his torn clothes, make sure he was fed and read bed time stories to him until he fell asleep. Around the farm I was handy at fixing the broken tools and machines. I loved my life with my family on the farm.
Then there was a night that had a violent lightning storm. It was just my brother and I home alone as I read a book to him while the rain was beating down furiously. The room shook as the lightning struck the roof shattering part of it over the bed and catching the thatch on fire. The room filled with smoke as the dry and wet of the thatch burned as the flames started to burn furniture. I looked for my brother…. but I couldn’t find him… and the fire was quickly consuming the house. My father and mother arrived and met me as I staggered out of our burning home. By then the flames were too much… my brother was lost.
The rain continued to pour down on us with no shelter. The flames consumed our home and moved to the shed and tools. The lightning lasted all night long as my father did his best to provide shelter us from the storm. The morning showed more of the devastation and as we wept at our loss some shady looking men approached us. They saw us in our grief and made us an offer. My father and mother went to work in the city. My parents left me to mourn. In my vast grief, I simply wandered the and learned about the city.
As I wandered the streets lost in my thoughts, I was approached by a thieving sort with an offer. I liked what he had to say and his group liked my skills. I found some satisfaction in working with them and did what they bid. I learned to use a sling as well as how to pick locks and work with traps. But while I was constructing a trap it sprung and hit me in the head, causing a permanent injury. My speech is compulsively set to rhyme… this bothered me for some time but I decided to deal with it.
One day I met Goldie and we decided to work with each other and away from a life of crime. We then met Zabbu who was in a mess of his own so we offered to took him with us as we sailed from the town we were in. I left it all behind and came to the Swordcoast to make a new life and be happy in my successes.
Goals: Opee just wants to live and be free to do what he wants. His basic goals are to be a highly-skilled trapper and trap maker and get paid well for those skills.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:[/code] Opee's personality, outlook on life and skill set can give him many opportunities to be hired by interested parties looking to either by-pass traps or to use traps for security. If the money is right, he'll take the job. He's not above burglary or other forms of larceny either.
