History
Brach Weynolt was born to a single mother in Amn. Wether who his father is he never knew or knows. Only thing his mother ever told him about was that he was a member of the Waukeenars. Unlike his mother, whom held a lowly bakery in the lower districts of the city, his father left the city of coin to seek yet another way to ear wealth elsewhere. Wheter this was true or not never was revealed to Branch, but let it be know that he left to hide as far away from the city never to return.
Branch grow up quietly in the care of his mother up to the age of 12. That one day he returned home and there was nothing left. No furniture, nor his mother.. Nothing, but the empty walls of the house. He wandered city for days looking for her, never to be able to find her. Up to this day, Brach have no clue what happened to her dear mother. Something that one day he has promised to resolve.
Years after this events Branch lived alone and what he could get by. This was the years when he eveloped high skill with thievery. Picking a lock, vanishing behind the corners or moving sliently in a strange house was something not alien to Branch. Not knowingly, he was observed most of the time, something that even his keen eyes and ears could not detect.
Years rolled and his loot kept growing and growing and his skill yet improving with great steps. His ever growing lust for wealth and gold led him to him even steal and sometimes trade in a famous Waukeen's Promenad. This was the days when he stepped in the wrong peoples toes and stole from the wrong stores. He quickly found his back against the wall and a dagger on his throath, ready to cut it if not agreed on certain terms. He had no clue or other change, so he had no option but to accept. This was the day he become involved with a infamous and powerful organization know as the Shadow thieves.
Up to this day he's not influencal, yet not a lowest footbad of the thieves. And he's not willingly in the organization either. Bound to it by several debts and influencal people. You could say the oraginzation owns him and he does nothing but to obey their will.
Character
Most of the time referd as a toy of the thieves. Branch appeals more cunning and clever than he lets the others know, most imprtanly to his "employers". He has achieved a position in the thieves that he does not get pushed around by others, but not so high that it would attract too much attention to him. His owns words are "Greater wealth brings greater enemies and oponents and makes your live just harded, but only if it's a open secret".
This words reveal that Branch's has far greater wealth only knows to none other than himself. Investmets in various stores with false names, burglary disgusied in the middle class house, yet still wealthy, bargaining with the merchants always ensuaring his own win, one way or another. This are some of the things he does and this or some other way to gain wealth, he goes to great extend to cover and get rid of any evidence or tracks that might lead this to him. Up to this day, it has worked nicely and above all he has maintaind his status as one of your common thief.
How he achieves this is not only due to his skill in thievery and hiding. He's inteligent and skilled with the art of appraise. His tongue ready to twist yet another great lie to his own benefit, something he's quite skillful at. He wear lowly leather armor and a cloaks and boots of moderate quality and washes himself not that often, in all he appears as anyone in his place would.
Branch keeps to himself and never reveals his name unless it's neccesary or the situation is in favor or need of it. Furthermore he never reveals his true identity, only to the ones who already knows it. He never staches his loot to a general bank or other public place. This location are well hid, and he goes to great extend to this remain so.

Why Branch is in Baldur's Gate is not known. Again it must have someting to do with the thieves from Amn
