After being out of Beregost for sometime in Crimmor or elsewhere to the south of Amn, the well-reputed and well-liked Amnian tax collector and academic, Antolina Burgoz, is rumored to be returning to Beregost for the first time since she was charged with tax embezzlement, the charges then promptly dropped after she presented an honorable alibi to Sheriff de Oca. She is said to be speaking at a seminar event hosted by representatives of the Amnian-Beregost Commerce Society and sponsored by Crymmar's Holding Company in a presentation on the Amnian economy, including members of the well-known Craumerdaun Amnian noble horse breeding family of Beregost. A respected authority on the Amnian economy, economic theory, business ethics, and a graduate of and professor at the premier Amnian Institute of Economics at the University of Athkatla, Burgoz is likely to draw a significant interested audience well beyond the organization hosting her, especially given the recent controversy surrounding her. The Amnian-Beregost Commerce Society posts ads in Beregost and Nashkel asking for those of a lawful demeanor to assist with event security, marketing, and ushering, being promised compensation of 2000 gold each for the task.

Rumor spreads that the economist and tax collector Antolina Burgoz was brazenly attacked at her public lecture in Beregost yesterday. It is unclear in rumor what her condition actually is after being attacked, although many seem to gossip that she is still alive. It is also rumored that an alleged assassin that attacked Burgoz was killed and that the assassin's body is being held in the Beregost Barracks and also that a man was briefly detained after the attack, but then released after being questioned by the Amnian authorities. Gossip is spoken throughout Beregost that at least temporarily guards are visibly posted throughout the town in greater number.



Word spreads that Governess Benino issued public statements today condemning the violence, giving her sincere and heartfelt condolences to Burgoz and her family, and having the Council of Six appoint a replacement for the tax districts that Burgoz oversaw as an Amnian tax collector if necessary.

Barked commands and distressed calls for aid echo within the halls of the chapel as the limp body of the scholar is transported in the arms of a dark-haired Dawnpriest from the streets. Smatters of blood stain the carpet, forgotten in the chaos. After many hours, official word comes from the clergy of the Song of the Morning - the assaulted woman Antolina Burgoz was in a stable condition. No further details are given.

Over the days which follow, templar activity of the temple seems to increase both internally and externally in vigilant guard. Priests take on a slightly weary countenance, coming and going from the back rooms of the chapel at all hours of the day and night. The Lady Antolina has yet to make an appearance since the attack.

As news of Lady Burgoz's attack in Beregost circulate, the town's common visitor of a tatooed elf may be seen frequently coming to the Temple of Lathander.

Those that hear of the wild elf may know the story of her attendance to lady Burgoz's conference, and failure to secure the woman's safety during her attack and the only amidst the mercenaries hired to oversee her to deny their coin. Though remorseful, and full of conviction to find the strings behind Burgoz's assailant, those that speak of the strange and heavily tattooed woman may also note how calm, quiet, and respectful she is of the Dawnbringer knights at the front of the temple. Coming and going, never asking for entry into the Temple, only constantly seeking a update on the Lady's recovery before looking to the cobbled roads of Beregost in worry as she skulks off to do whatever it is she does.

Herran Hymn and Ylu head to the Pheonix inn after a brief conversation with the merchant blacksmith regarding the attack on the purported tax swindler during her speech at the recent conference.

They first talk to the performer inside where Herran offers to join in with song and dance, Ylu watching and laughing and finally joining in the dance.

As time passes the two of them move among the patrons talking and buying drinks, but, mostly listening to anything related to the attack, the lady herself, the mayor and of the ladies supposedly already selected replacement.

From the performer, to Sam, the barmaids to the patrons themselves, and even the cook they discretely talk to each, while interacting merrily.

With the increased activity at the temple Eleanore does her best to reasure worried people and keep everything in order. Despite her warm smile and reasuring words she does not let anyone upstairs that does not have permission from her superiors.

Dawnpriest Tolan spends most of his waking time either assisting Hannah in tending to the still unconcious Antolina Burgoz, or reading up on and gathering components for a ritual of some sort. Tomes are scoured for information to aid him and whomever will assist in the ritual, candles are prepared, and water is blessed - all of it to be used in the ritual.

Report on Lady Antolina Burgoz:
According to witnesses on scene, the patient was shot in the neck with a poison tipped arrow. Her skin color is pallor. The patient has an open wound that is mostly healed shut at the site of the jugular vein. The patient had been effected by the poison and with strong healing magic the poison appears to have been removed. The patient's vitals are stable. Patient's neck wound has no drainage and is closing. Patient remains unconscious. Patient does not respond to stimuli and is at high risk for pressure ulcers. I will monitor the patient's vitals for change in condition, turn the patient every two hours to reduce the chance of pressure ulcers, perform hygiene care, change the patient's wound dressings daily, and check the patient frequently for traces of poison residual.

Herran and Ylu , after a good nights rest at the inn, head down to Sheriff de Oca's office where they disappear inside for quite some while.

Tolan and Hannah both meet in the temple to tend Antolina while she is recovering. Tolan doesn't immediately do anything to aid Antolina, instead letting Hannah show off her own training and skill. Impressed by her knowledge, Tolan offer very little conversation in the form of advise, but rather focuses on ideas to keep Antolina stable and healthy while she recovers. One particular concern, which Hannah shares and is quick to voice, even before Tolan can do so himself, is the question of providing Antolina with nourishment and keeping her hydrated. Eventually they agree upon keeping Antolina stable with magic for the time being, hoping she will recover before more drastic means are required.

Tolan explains how a Dispel Fatigue spell will keep Antolina's body refreshed and strong for at least a few days more. While it will not provide her with actual nourishment, it will keep up her energy reserves while they find a more permanent solution. He agrees to Hannah's suggestion of inserting a tube into Antolina's nose and running it to her stomach so they can provide her with liquid nourishment. Tolan also explains how it would be best to use curative and healing magic to keep Antolina's body from deteriorating due to bedsores or other ailments caused by an extended supine position.

At the end of their session with Antolina, Tolan calls upon Lathander, offering a small prayer to deepen his connection with his god, and then casts a Heal spell on Antolina. No sooner have the spell taken hold of Antolina before Tolan invokes another spell, far less grand - a Dispel Fatigue spell - to revitalize Antolina's body and keep her energy reserves up. Tolan and Hannah converse pleasantly for a while afterwards, before Tolan return to his other duties, among them preparing for the intended ritual. When he leaves, it is with clear instructions for Hannah to follow.

• - One Heal spell each day, or equivelant cumulative curative spells.

• - Restoration spells at any sign of ailment any such spell would cure.

• - One Dispel Fatigue spell every four hours.

• - If there is no change in the patient's condition within a quarter of a forthnight (three days), liquid nourishment through nasal tube will be required in place of Dispel Fatigue spells for the remainder of the patient's stay.

Hannah shares Tolan's instructions with the other healers of the temple who aid her. When she is in the temple during her shift over Antolina Burgoz, she spends her time monitoring the patient carefully for any signs of trouble. Every four hours she casts the dispel fatigue spell on Antolina Burgoz. She knows if she can just keep the body alive, Antolina's neurological pathways will have a chance to reform and hopefully the woman will wake. When she isn't casting or performing various interventions, Hannah talks to Antolina while holding her hand. She tells the unconscious girl about things happening in Beregost. She tells the woman about the art festival she's been planning. She tells the woman of the number of people wishing her a swift recovery. Anything that could be small talk, Hannah tells it to Lady Burgoz. She figures the external stimuli could help with the woman's recovery.

She continues to report all findings to Dawnpriest Tolan and Commander Eldarian.

Patrons of the Risen Phoenix tavern may have noticed that a certain room has been occupied since the new year. Little would be known about the occupant, other than he keeps to himself, holed up in his room.

At night, passers-by on the street between the tavern and the Song of the Morning temple might see a hooded figure in the window, pacing back and forth in the candle-light, watching, night after night..

A ranger of the roads, Asher, while visiting and doing trade in Beregost was approached by the proprietor of Thunderhammer Smithy himself during an exchange. Through inquiry and curiosity, the ranger learned of an attack on an economics expert in the area, a woman who is left gravely wounded and it is said, may not last much longer. She was in charge of tax collection by the Amnians in the area. She is to be replaced by a local authority.

Upon further inquiry at the temple of Lathander, the ranger learned of a strong feeling of disconnection from Amn, a feeling that their taxed money was going to fund Amn's war efforts and expansion, and none of it was going to improving the state of the town. Only more soldiers arrive, but the upkeep of the town seems to be something they care little for. Contempt seems to fill the air around the place now, contempt and uncertainty.

After a very close call, Hannah has begun casting the spell 'shield other' on Lady Burgoz (refreshing the spell every eight hours) whenever she is within the temple.

Arrests at the Temple of the Morninglord

As the sun sets and a cold rain falls upon Beregost, the town sheriff and several guards are seen approaching the Temple of Lathander. They encounter several Lathanderites and their guests as they are leaving the temple following a meeting. Rumors begin to spread around the township that the Amnian Authorities arrested the Lathanderite Eldarian Al'maire, and took him to the town hall. They say he surrendered without incident, though there may have been some altercations inside the town hall that night.


As dawn rises over the town, a small crowd is already gathered outside town hall. Please can be heard near the front of the crowd questioning why the guard would contend with the town's beloved divine protectors. Near the rear of the gathering, a few anti-Amnian slur's can be picked up over the chatter of the bewildered and anxious crowd.
