Bonus feat: 1d6 Sneak Attack

Hello,

i have a dagger with Bonus feat: +1d6 sneak attack. It doesnt seem to stack with sneak attacks from my rogue lvls, is that intended? Or a bug?

It should stack, but it won't show up in your character sheet. It can be difficult to tell if it's there or not. Best way is to note down the average of 50 or so attacks without it, then do the same for another 50 and see if there is any improvement.

i have only tested for a few minutes damage didnt seem to be higher but i guess i had some bad luck with dmg numbers

I think it won't stack. And I don't think it should either? It's the same ability, so the game picks the highest. It would be different if it was an improved sneak attack feat, but it's not.

I don't think it stacks with feats that are called "Sneak Attack", it stacks with sneak attacks that have a different name (Death Attack, Arcane Trickster sneak attack etc.)

Can anyone confirm 100% if it does stack or does not?

I will do some testing tomorrow myself if it does stack with the rogue's sneak attacks. The testing i did so far was very short, maybe i just had low damage numbers there. Didn't feel like it adds 1d6 damage though.

Arent there feats you can take on lvl up that add more sneak attack damage? I dont know if those are just regular sneak attacks or improved / deadly or whatever. I thought the dagger would add one of that tho so i guessed it would stack.

Also the stat on the item says:

it doesnt stack with Sneak Attack Dice such as from rogue. It does stack, as Thids said, with other sources of SA ( Death Attack, Xneak attack fromThieves guild etc )

the pins dagger does not stack

it only gives 1d6 SA and yes it shows up on the character sheet

if you already have the feat then you gain nothing, you have to use it on someone who does not have the feat

Yes, but those feats are epic and they're called "improved sneak attack +XD6". Those feats stack with everything, but the basic sneak attack feat is constantly replaced when you level up. It won't stack because it's the same ability (it picks the highest). As Thids mentions, it will stack with death attack because it's not the same ability as sneak attack.

I understand the confusion, but the feat sneak attack also says "Sneak attack +XD6". It's the same, even if it can be misleading at first. It's like having Epic Will and then getting an item with Iron Will. The game picks the highest of the two because they're the same feat essentially.
