Background:
Sylena grew up in dambrath, a member of the Arkaiun tribes, barbaric tribesmen. Her specific tribe lived along the boarder of dambrath and halruaa. The crinti overlords often forced the local tribes to battle against Haluraa in the many skirmishes, battles and raids between the two lands.

Sylena unlike many with divine powers in her land worshiped a good diety, Shaundakul. Despite her innate connection to her god, she was Arkaiun, and hence unclean, a lesser being, even with her devine bloodlines, in fact her devine bloodlines made her even more of an outcast. The halruaans called them Shadow Amazons, because of their barbarian ancestors.

In her own lands, it is drow, then half drow, then the humans, then below that the arkian humans as a pecking order. Sylenas mixed blood put her below the normal last rung of society, save for elves who are so hated in these lands they are killed if lucky, as Any such elves caught in Dambrathan territory are usually captured and turned over to the temples of Loviatar for entertainment purposes. Sylena however is proud of her Illuskan blood, which all Arkaiuns share. Sylena holds a special hatred for the faith of Loviatar, which was a vital part of the drow ending up as overlords and rulers of dambrath along with the Crinti. Sylena also holds extreme hatred for the drow and will at all costs pursue any leads of drow activity on the surface. She has seen the drow take over a surface land, and does not wish to see such a fate befall the new lands she calls home. She knows the people in her own lands thought the risk minimal, that they were too strong, that it could never happen there, yet it did. She see's the same traits in her new adopted land and will fight to ensure that never ever happens.

One day her mother asked her to leave dambrath, after seeing how many of the tribe fell fighting on behalf of the crinti rulers. Her mother had over seen trade negotiations in far away lands, even having visited places such as
Waterdeep and baldurs gate. Having heard the tales growing up sylena opted to travel the sword coast, stopping at balders gate to make a promising new life for herself, one where she could be open with her faith and serve her deities cause.

Sylena struggles with common, as her barbaric Arkaiun tribe had no use for such a tongue. She will for now often misunderstand words and sentences, and she often struggles to get out her thoughts. She does speak elven, which all crinti in her homeland speak, as the crinti founders trace ancestry to the 112 half elves of lovitar and because of her husband she had when she left her homeland and stayed for a time in another land. Her husband died of old age and at peace and her marriage did not last long, as sometimes you only capture love for a moment, but enjoy what precious time you have. The experience has led her to have strong emotions, and to value every moment and breath life in.

As with drow society, her old society ( Dambrath ) it is women who hold the power. As such sylena tends to respect the views of another women over that of a male, despite herself and despite knowing now that men are just as smart and capable.

Because of her lower caste standing, sylena is always struggling to prove her worth in her new homeland, and to shrug of the perceived taint that she imagines all can see, a taint that exists truly only her own mind.

Sylenas mother was killed after sylena left dambrath, her skull placed on a staff of a crinti as a warning to any family who would send a valued asset out of dambrath, for dambrath is very unforgiving and desertion is punishable ( Sylena fled dambrath during one of many outbreaks of violence with Halruaa ).

Sylena will pursue any and all drow leads of drow activity on the surface, and will pursue any books or knowledge on her hated foe.

Sylena once worshiped the red knight before embracing the natural call of shaundakul that her birth propelled her towards, as such she respects tactics and has knowledge of the red knight's faith.




Sylena most desires:

1) To find a place to call home preferably a village or small town.

2) To find people to look after, to call her family.

3) To set up a shrine to hoar

4) To one day travel back to dambrath and retrieve the skull of her mother from the crinti's staff and hoar willing resurrect her and bring her to her new home to live out her days. Her mother has alchemy skills of a healing nature.
