Background: Calli was born and raised in Luiren, Land of the Hin, where he spent most of his childhood learning the trades and responsibilities of his family. Whether they were living in Ammathluir, Beluir, or Chethel, the young hin was most at home on the road. Just as Calli was reaching adulthood, he spent his days more and more away from his family's homes. He found peace in the Luirwood, among the trees and animals that roamed within and the other hin that he grew close too. Eventually he joined up with the Luiren militia as a scout, and before long, ranged from Estagrund to Dambrath, spending his time tracking animals and any threats to Luiren.
The young hin spent much of his early adulthood scouting for Luiren and fighting the Bog King's minions near the Mortick Swamp. He even spent a year looking for treasure in Thruldar, even though much of his time in the ruined city was fruitless save the countless orcs and goblins down from the Toadsquat Mountains that he had slain. Calli began to grow restless in Luiren, having seen its sights many times over, as he approached his third decade. During his time with his Ghostwise kin around Thruldar, he learned of a Ghostwise settlement north in a place called the Chondalwood. Having proven himself against the Bog King and in the ruins of Thruldar, they told him of the tribe's relative location. After some brief farewells with his family and friends, Calli set off north for Chondath and the Chondalwood.
Calli found Chondath and the Chondalwood with relative ease, and after a couple weeks of wandering the wood and tracking the tribe, he was discovered by a small group of copper elves. The hin assisted them against an orc raiding party and was allowed to live among the elves. Calli spent the next several years learning from the elves and exploring the vast woods. He learned the wood elves' language and art of healing. Eventually, he even managed to find his kin, where he spent some time among them. The Ghostwise hin even gifted the young Light-foot halfling the hin blade Orcbane to aid him in his fights against the Chondalwood orcs. Eventually, wanderlust struck the young hin once more, and he set out again.
The hin travelled west, adventuring in Tethyr and Calimsham for a time before finding his way to Amn and eventually Baldur's Gate. He had a brief stay in the Cloakwood and the Wood of Sharp Teeth before heading even further north. While he stayed at a small inn west of the High Moor, he witnessed the hill giants and trolls attacking nearby farmers. Unsettled, he offered his services to the local militia, and with the help of some other adventurers, managed to protect the farmlands for a time, until Calli once again headed north and left the lands guarded by the local militias and farmers.
Calli continued to travel north until he reached the Spine of the World. He encountered a band of dwarven mercenaries searching the mountains for the source of thefts and disappearances around Mirabar. They found a young black dragon under the nearby mountains directing bandits around the city. Unable to defeat the dragon, they trapped it under the mountain and stole away with most of its horde, including an ancient broken longsword made of mithril. The dwarves, thankful for the help, reforged the blade to fit the halfling and named it Frostbite. Having seen much of the world now, he decided to return south and offer his aid to those that needed him. As he headed south, he found evidence of an orc horde on the move. He followed it to Silverymoon where he helped the Moonlight Men mercenaries defend the city at Turnstone Pass. They killed over 4,000 orcs, and even though all but six of the Moonlight Men were decimated in the battle, they saved the nearby settlements. Calli chased fleeing orcs across the countryside, slaying those that he caught.
After tracking the remnants of the orc warband south into the High Forest, a wood elven city at the forest's edge ambushed the orcs, and with Calli's aid, managed to put them down with only a few casuelties. Calli stayed with the elves for several years hunting evil within and around the High Forest. They hunted several orc tribes to extinction and saved the nearby town Loudwater from destruction as another orc horde sought after its decimation. The elves began calling their hin companion Glenstrider, a name well earned from his hunts against the orc tribes. As he neared his fifth decade, Calli ventured south once more, until he landed himself in Baldur's Gate in 1351 DR. Local events piqued his interest and he wished to help those that he could against the developing plague and undead attacks.
