Beholder that Bastard, in the Gnoll's Cave

Unread post by stevebarracuda »

Twice in a row, while fighting the Beholder in the Gnoll's Cave, my game crashed. The massive wave of VFXs that accompany his onslaught of spells, is doing it. After first crash, came back online, and logged in, my toon still alive. Realizing the fight wasn't worth ending up in the Fugue, I tried to run my toon out...but a second wave of spells and a second identical crash sealed the deal, and my toon was Fugued.

I can count myself lucky that a DM rezzed my toon with a big XP penalty associated with the technical assist, however, not lucky for the next poor soul that gets crashed by the VFX...an no DM online.

Is there any chance someone can remove the VFXs from the Beholder, or tone it down, somehow? Just a suggestion. Cheers. If you want screenshots, I have them.

You may be having an issue with your GPU and the game. I used to have a similar issue with shape shifters. I got a new GPU and everything was fine. I hope we can track down exactly what is causing this.

I am, via Wineskin emulator.

The Beholder in the Gnoll's Cave is one of the very few times I have a VFX crash. The last time I experienced a VFX crash was with the wyverns in Corm Op, but I believe IAMDEATH fixed that up.

I have an old XP computer, and almost always crash if the beholder casts a sound burst spell.

the same thing happens to me when I get a mord spell casted against me, im on a PC. notably the pit fiend. When you crash if you have gmw and armor spells casted on yourself, they dissapear then you log back in. almost always certain death for me.
