Background: A boy was born in the year 1333 and was found and adopted by a craftsman and town armorer named Mikavus. Mikavus took the boy in and gave him the name Masero. Throughout his childhood,Mikavus taught Masero as a blacksmith and at the ripe age of 12 joined the local militia. In his foster father's smith he was almost as good as his foster father when it came to his smithing ability. Similiarly, in the militia he was one of the toughest militia around. Despite all this, Masero's personality never really stood out besides his earnest way of life and his willingness to work hard. The militia captain noticed that his subordinate was quite good with a blade and shield and praised his talents. When a group of bandits attacked the small town, Masero was the first one to stand up to them. He helped the militia organize a defensive blockade around the town and they fought the bandits off with minimal casualities. In the year of 1351, Masero's life was sidetracked when Mikavus' mother in Baldur's Gate caught an unknown sickness. Mikavus sends Masero to go and take of her while she is sick. Unfortunately, she succumbs to the illness and Masero was forced to move out on his own. Masero leaves to go to the farmlands and begin his new life.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: His past is completely open-ended that even Masero (and I, the player) are oblivious to even his own family.
