Church of Ilmater RP

Adventurers are possibly seen stockpiling two extra-large wagon-full sums of healing supplies, food, and bread in Beregost and then caravan shipping these wagons north to Baldur's Gate, braving assaults by waylaying bandits along the route. These goods are then said to be unloaded at a loading dock outside of the east gate of Baldur's Gate and then carted or carried by the adventurers to the temples of Ilmater, Tyr, and Mystra in the city.

Together with the caravan, Mogrant returns too. Arriving at the Temple of Ilmater he starts to see where he may help to share the new supplys.

*A letter is left at the temple by Enora of Lathander. She is requesting meeting of the peoples responsible for the effort against the plague.*

Telia picks up the letter at the Temple and reads it. She then walks towards the Chapel, opening the door just a bit to peek inside. Seeing Brother Marcus, the leader of the Temple of Ilmater standing there, she opens the door fully and steps inside.

"Brother Marcus," Telia inclines her head respectfully to the elderly man. "A paladin of the Morninglord left a message. I believe she intends it for you."

She leaves the short note with Brother Marcus before she smiles and leaves the Chapel.

*A letter arrives with the coming of dawn, one chilly morning in Ches. It bares the darkened red seal of a thorned rose in wax and is addressed to Brother Ameris Santraeger in perfectly scribed penmanship.*

A woman is seen making inquiries at the Temple of Ilmater, asking to speak with a priest or paladin for advice.

An agitated Serena Moro is seen in deep conversation with a man clad in dark robes and a dark-haired woman at the temple, accompanied by a druid and an elf. They speak for many hours over tea and simple food, and Serena leaves looking more at peace.

A note is left in the temple to be circulated to local Ilmateri by Ameris Santraeger.

Brothers and Sisters,

The Dukes have permitted the Scrivener Cara Joriani, a servant of Jergal, to tend to the dead and see that their rest is peaceful, to take such burden off this temple while we cope with the sickness and replenish our stocks.

A stipulation of this, given her past faith as a Myrkulite, is for her to be supervised by those of goodly faith in her work. I will be attending to supervise her when able, I encourage others of you to do so when you have chance.

Fourty nine crates and a scrolled, hand penned message are left for Ameris at the temple.

After an absence of three tendays from Baldur's Gate the Head Watchknight Sveta Asperan returns from Nashkel leading a wagon of salt cured lamb, sacks of barley and what vegetables Nashkel had available for purchase before she left. The wagon was delivered to the temple of Ilmater, setting it around the back of the temple before heading inside in search of a certain priest.

Heartwarder Erza is seen entering the temple with a bag, she heads right out the back seeming in a great hurry.. she is heard to be chanting behind a closed curtains those with skilled spellcraft would understand she is making an offering to sune in exchange for the Resurrection of someone.

The High priestess seems to remain within the temple helping the other patients as the faithful require while her friend recovers. she heals till she has expended all her magic and then offers counseling for the remainder of her time.

Ameris and Telia return to the Temple of Ilmater after an absence of half a ten-day. Ameris would explain that he and Telia had teleported north to purchase and collect needed supplies in the region of Secomber. The focus was particular medicines which were running low, allowing for the continued treatment of mundane injuries now that the plague was abating.

Ameris would explain that the pair had taken some of the Dragonwing supplies set about as a matter of urgency undertaking rounds of various known ill and sick - the elderly, infirm and most impoverished who found visiting the temple difficult even before the plague, and who had been hard to help during the worst of the crisis. The majority had suffered badly or had even died during the sickness. Those who remained were in great need and the distribution of food and medicine to them in their homes would be vital in saving the lives of those who could not attend the temple or other sources of relief.

He would speak highly of Telia's aid in soothing hearts even as he attended to each patient's health.

Clearly the news of the past few days has likely not reached Ameris.

Ameris would return to the temple after a trip out on his rounds quite annoyed.

He would speak to those present about the recent works undertaken at the Thayan Enclave, and would try and make sure all those who frequent the Temple were aware.

He would speak of wishing to gather those of the faith to discuss this matter.

"We cannot abide such a risk to children, who will think nothing of the dangers and consequences of such work, and only think in their desperation of the coin. We must make this course of activity too embarrassing for the Thayans to contemplate."

A petition would be left in the temple, contained within a book left open to allow for signatures.

Say NO to Thayan Child Labour!

The recent employment opportunities offered by the Thayan Enclave may be of benefit to the poorest of society, but let us not forget that the poorest are often the most vulnerable.

The Enclave is ussing unskilled child labour for hazardous tasks including dangerous work at height. It is only a matter of time before children are injured or even killed!

The Temple of Ilmater calls upon the Enclave to:
- Cease employing children for hazardous tasks.
- Use appropriately skilled labour for dangerous tasks.
- Institute safey measures to guarantee the safety of all its workers, to be reviewed by the Temple of Ilmater or another reliable body.

For most of the evening, a dead body is laid out in the infirmary for proper examination. Several people come and go, attempting to study it and find answers. When not examined, the body is respectfully covered by a blanket. Anyone in the infirmary looking beneath the blanket in the evening would notice it is that of Telia Navra wearing a torn dress and that the death has not been a peaceful one. The holy symbol of Mystra with its eight pointed star and with a star sapphire embedded in the middle of the amulet can be seen resting on her chest.


The body would not stay in the infirmary the whole evening but moved elsewhere in the Temple later in the night or some time before morning.

One figure often seen by her side during the evening was Sveta Asperan. She could be overheard reading aloud while writing, with the assistance of a Dawnknight, a grim report of the circumstances surrounding Telia's death. After a brief prayer in the chapel the report was handed to Brother Marcus.
