Vornerin the Mage is seen spending time at the school of Necromancy. He has gained the favor of some of the higher mages there by doing tasks for them and assisting them in their incantations that require more then one mage.
He is also seen studying various esoteric tomes of Necromancy and item fabrication. He is there for half a cycle, days on end, practicing and studying. His capacity for retention and understanding is impressive, and he seems to be gaining confidence in Necromancy.
Vornerin is also seen in the Shammath Bazzar trading certain gems with the gem trader. It appears Vornerin has collected quite a large collection of gem stones, but he is seeking a particular kind now.

Beldroin goes about her normal duties at the school, instructing classes for the necromancers, and keeps hearing mention of this new mage's potential. After a while she starts to keep track of his progress and tasks he does for the mages under her with interest...
Beldroin would discover that he has been agreable to finding difficult spell components in the underwilds in exchange for help in his research into creating undead that are difficult to turn and can only be controlled by a controlling item of power. She would also discover that he has asked some for help in directions and tomes on how to craft such a controlling item, in particular as a ring, and how many undead could be controlled safely and effectively by such an item.
It would seem Vornerin is attempting to make a ring of power that controls large numbers of undead that he would create. You have heard that he has been trying by placing controlling gems in the skulls of the undead he creates before animating them. These would be mummies, ghouls, and ghasts. Who knows what other powers he wishes to pour in such a ring, but it makes for good gossip and amusing discussions amongst the Necromancers. Some are taking bets that he will succeed and some that he will fail. Some are interested in finding out what other powers he intends on pouring into this ring.
As for the assistance granted to other mages he has volunteered to assist in dangerous magical experiments that have been explosive at times. With mirth some of the older necromancers joke about his ability to dodge explosions and catching projectiles in the air that would have impailed him or the primary caster. For this reason he has become a novel staple in experimental magics. His humor at these events deflects from wounded pride and apparently he keeps the failures secret, out of respect, and the stories are only heard when the primary caster shares it with a friend or allie. From there it enters the gossip train.

Beldroin continues to observe the jaluk and nearly dies of laughter upon hearing of his plan.
"He wants to mass control undead through a ring? Not that it is not possible but does he even know how to work wondrous items?" she chats with some of her students who keep her informed...
One gets her before the next experimentation he helps out with and she goes to watch quietly thoroughly amused at the display.
One of her students looks to her, "He has promise, dos teach animations and creations along with crafting such items... do dos think his plan will work?"
She keeps watching and simply replies, "If done right del'heen, he however wants to do it the harder way..." she debates a moment and continues "alright, tell him to go to the misty lake deep in the tunnels, there are gems that rise to the bottom of the lake at times, black gems that would be strong enough for what he needs, tell him to get two and bring them to me..." she turns to head back upstairs and finishes on her way out "if he can dodge all that surely the undead at the lake should be nau problem..."
Vornerin waits until Beldroin's last class of the cycle is taught. He patiently waits unobtrusively in the corridors of the school. When he see's you he closes the tome he was reading and places it in a book carrier strapped over his shoulder. He waits until you recognize him then nods and smiles and approaches.
"Vendui Necromancer Beldroin. Usstan am grateful for dos instruction. The stones dos mentioned are here," from his right hand appear two gleaming obsidian stones.

Beldroin takes the gems and looks them over "Ah bel'la dos, Usstan can make these work however Usstan will need a few other things as well..." she pulls out a cloth and wraps the gems and tucks them away. "If dos go into the crypts dos will find many undead, del'heen, Usstan will need three finger bones from any of the skeletons, also the shipment of quicksilver is running behind, Usstan will need a jar of grey ooze slime, pollen from a myclonid and about two fists full of drider silk then Usstan can see what Usstan can do with these, dos can handle all that nau?" she gives him a slight grin before heading upstairs to her quarters.
Teacher Beldroin, I have done what you have requested. I was lucky enough to have access to the wares of Adenith Zau'afin, whom we affectionately call the fat one. He had in supply what I could not find.
Here are 30 fingers from skeletons from the crypts, a large crate filled with quicksilver, compliments of Adenith, 10 jars of grey ooze slime, and a large container filled with pollen from myclonids. The Drider silk was very challending to find but Zau'afin has a talented scout who was able to remove the obstacles to the silk. She was a little over-zealous as her nature. I hope you do naut mind. Here is a crate with much more drider silk then two fist fulls, but I am sure you will put it to good use in your own experiments.
I forget to mention something important. I hope you do naut find me impertinent. I was hoping to also add to the ring the ability to improve concentration. Is this possible?

Beldroin looks over the supplies rubbing her chin slightly "Well, talk about over achieving..." her eyes move towards the large crate as he mentions quicksilver "ah manage to get a hold of some of this somehow hm?" she takes her staff and pops the crate open checking the contents and smiles "this is all usstan really needed, the other stuff was so usstan could just make ussta own so usstan could scribe with it"
She stands from over the crate and looks around the school a moment then points over to the back where the benches are "dos can just move these things over near the work benches, out of the way del'heen" she turns back to him as asks about the concentration, she crosses her arms, cradling her staff on one side as she raises a hand to her chin and considers a moment "hmm... probably naut the best idea with this gem, tis strong enough to hold one safely after its cut to size but a second will likely crack it if naut completely stress it and explode..." she gets a mischievous grin on her face remembering how well he does being fired at with spells and adds on "but dos are welcome to try it dosstan... usstan would simply naut recommend it... speaking of, dos have training with actually working wondrous items? ussta students did naut seem to know for sure"
Her eyes shift followed by a slow turn of her head as it seems on cue that a pair of the alchemy students cause a large backfire that shatters their flask on the other side of the lobby. The pair stand there with their faces coated in a white powder and a few cuts from the glass and slowly turn towards Beldroin who is glaring a bit, one jaluk slowly puts his hands up in an "I'm innocent gesture" and the other jaluk slowly points to him as if it was his fault, Beldroin shakes her head and rubs her forehead slightly before looking back to Vornerin
"Anyway... if dos know how to work items usstan can show dos how to inscribe the gem to take the spell, dos know how to make a bone ring usstan tlun sure, nau?" she turns back a moment to make sure the other two have started cleaning which they have before returning her attention "if dos do naut know how to work items there is unfortunately nau formal class for it here, as it is naut widely required for anything, all the same it can be taught but it takes time... usstan can show dos the process, if dos know how already, and then dos can attempt to make the ring and if it goes wrong well..." she pauses a moment looking back down at the stock he brought in "usstan tlun sure you have enough here to try a few times..."
Del'heen Teacher Beldroin, wondrous items? I have naut that talent, but if that is required to make this ring I will do so. It is the talent that allows for the construction of Golems as well if I am naut mistaken? If this is so I will soon learn this skill," says Vornerin scratching the side of his face with his right hand while smiling.

"Xas wondrous items are simply magical trinkets if dos will, a very wide range of what one could be, but xas it is a required talent to know for such a ring, physically making the ring requires naut but the ability to shape it, its the enchanting part you will need training on working wondrous items for..." she reaches to her belt and unhooks a lantern from it and holds it up "such as this lantern" she opens the shutter doors and it appears to be a blue flame but doesn't give off any heat, spellcraft suggest it is a continual flame - whose heat source lays on the ethereal plane while the light is on the material plane, which makes it so the flame will never go out... from the material plane at least - the light seems normal enough either way, she waves over a student to demonstrate and closes the shutter, the student casts invisibility on himself and disappears from sight "this lantern works simply enough, just have to open it up and most magical cloaking is removed" she opens the shutters and the blue light flickers as it rushes out and strips the invisibility from the student, she nods to him and motions him back to what he was doing
"a lantern of revealing, comes in handy here and there, but one of many wondrous items, as far as golems go, to make a golem one needs actual experience with golemcraft, there is however, a wondrous item one can make to aid in that craft so one does naut need the actual training, magical manuals on how to create them that you follow... naut particularly the same thing but it works the same in a way, end result is a golem, just one way requires skill with actually making them and the other requires a properly put together manual and one able to follow it to the letter" she attaches her lantern back to its spot on her belt and notices several students grabbing bodies off the carts and heading upstairs "oh about that time for anatomy, let ussa know if dos are interested about the wondrous training and we can work something out" she gives him a nod and heads up to the classrooms
Vornerin appears to be in deep study learning all he can about the Sshamath Mythal, creating Golems, making wonderous items, and manifesting control on undead subjects.
His studies are quite voracious and he is seen reading a new tome in either the school of Necromany or the school of Mages.
When he is not in his studies, his whereabouts are unkown within the city of Sshamath.

After long exhausting study, Vornerin feels he has nearly reached the breakthrough he needs to be able to make wonderous items. It is his intention to begin fabricating special items so that Zau'fin can have better and unique magical items for sale in Sshamath and possibly other cities.
He also keeps his eye on crafting a powerful ring that will assist him with Necromantic faerl. Once he has mastered the skill he will approach High Necromancer Beldroin for further assitance.

When he starts to seek out Beldroin he is informed by her students she has been gone away on business for some time now, escorted out by some of the school's soldiers, but they will let him know of her return.
