The news spread to the Inns and taverns of the city. In one such, a dark clad figure sits at the bar with a drink in his hand. His face, all but the mouth, his concealed by a hood.

The man smirks at the news, raising his glass, mumbling to himself.
"Heh, justice finally caught up with you, Lady Death..."

He downs the drink, arises and then throws a coin to the bar keeper before walking out.

Three exotic looking newcomers are seen striking down the bandits in the cave nearby the Palace District. It is also rumored that they have been seen arguing with the farmer about outside the gates over just how much that rat is worth. The bolder of the three has been declaring Baldurs Gate as racist, with the house prices supposedly being higher for him, and him alone.

A ship is seen on the horizon, bearing Cormyrean colours of deep purple. It drops anchor within the bay overnight, departing with first light the following morning. A face familiar to the citizens of Baldur's Gate is seen within the docks that eve, pale blonde hair catching in the moonlight as the figure climbs from a much smaller rowboat.

Amidst the continual bustle of a working class environment, a sharp red hood looks up from the duties of minding a warehouse, the prizes inside more supplies for the efforts of healing the Gate's fresh wounds.

Those wide yellow eyes only grow in size as they find Cecilia. There's a short breath of relief, a sigh of good omen. She clearly wants to go and greet the woman, but the warehouse beckons her back to her duty.

For the now, the panther like gaze of the wild elf would have to suffice as her welcome home, from afar.

(Outside the Thayan Enclave)

Dave began, "The sovereignty of the Thayans does not supercede the concerns of hard-working people willing to work in these ten year old's stead! What you are doing is gutless, and needs to be acknowledged! Hello!"
Ckal: "Would you like to join us for a drink? Just behind me at the tables."
"No sir, thank you for your kindness, would you like to join me in protesting and bringing the Khazark out of hiding?"
"What are you protesting?"
Sabatra slips the coins into Waitress Joy's hand as she delivers the glass of red wine, as she listens.

"The Thayans have launched a construction project on their rooftop and other infrastructure tasks... I would not oppose this action if they wouldn't stoop so low as to employ ten year olds and the extremely old, and frail. I think many sensible people of different viewpoints would see the injustice happening here; ten year olds, and very old, correct."
Ckal: "What are they doing?"
Sabatra inquired, "Employed...or enslaved?"
Ckal now, "What kind of work? Are they paid?"

"They are fixing the rooftop, and working on other renovations." Dave gestures greatly at the children working outside as they speak.I am trying to figure out how much they are paid, actually."
Ckal: "Well, I may grab a drink and be back. Only for my voice of course."
"If you come outside, I might not protest anymore, all you have to do is meet out here!" He blows into the growling, reverberating, blinding sound of the Clarion. "Come on out before I get a warrant from Duke Elton himself!"
Ckal: "I may just protest for a bit." He carries a mug. "YOU IN THERE! DON'T BE IN THERE ANYMORE!"
Dave hollers in high-pitched tone of his. "Do the children receive breaks?!"WE KNOW YOU CAN HEAR US!""
Sabatra listens, sipping from her wine glass.

Dave: "Has there been any accidents on the job?! Or would Thay try to cover this up?!"
Ckal: "Children must be children! The elderly are old!"
Sabatra wears a thoughtful expression. "Do you have proof of this, sir?"
"They are at an early stage of development that requires no need for the strenuous lamentations of torturous work?! He is accurate in his assesment!"
"Proof of them working, that is plain as day." Dave gestures politely, then shakes his head. "Far as accidents, no. But I am curious if they have occured, as any caring person would!!! ""*He blows into the Clarion menacingly. "This crowd will only grow. You answer us now, or more people will come to exercise their gods-given rights.Do you understand?"
Sabatra looks around*
Ckal declared, "I DO!"
Dave yelled, "What are your thoughts on feeding the children before and after a hard day's construction?!! I THINK THEY DESERVE IT!"
Ckal: "Food!" Takes another long drink.
"I GUARANTEE THESE RED WIZARDS GET PAID ASTRONOMICALLY MORE THAN YOU PAY THESE POOR CHILDREN!"

Sabatra steps to the back of the crowd, clearly uncomfortable.
Ckal takes another drink.
Sabatra sips her wine.
"I WILL RALLY MY COUNTRYMEN AND COUNTRYWOMEN AGAINST THIS AMALGAMATION OF NEAR-SLAVERY THRUSTED UPON OUR YOUTH, IN A TIME IN THEIR LIVES, WHEN THEY SHOULD BE SPENDING PRODUCTIVE TIME WITH THEIR FAMILY, NOT AIDING ACTUAL SLAVERY, AND I THINK THE DOGMEN SHOUld BE FREE TOO!"

Vicala cringes at the yelling.
Sabatra looks to her feet. Makes her way through the crowd.
"END THIS CONTRUCTION PROGRAM NOW BEFORE CHILDREN ARE HURT, BEFORE THE DUKES COME TO ISSUE A WARRANT AGAINST YOUR ARBITRARY CALLOUS CRUELTY."
Vicala Sticks a finger in one of her ears and rubs around, still frowning at the yelling, but manages a nod in return to the woman.
"I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE CHILDREN ABOUT HOW MANY HOURS A DAY THEY ARE WORKING, AND I WILL BUY THEM LUNCH AND DINNER IF THAY WILL NOT!" Dave blows hard into the booming dinosaur roar of the Clarion which echoes like a raging ghost across Baldur's East Gate District.
Sabatra sips her wne, peeking around the foliage between her and Valiant.
Dave growled, in determination, "I THINK THEY DESERVE HEALTHCARE, IF THEY ARE NOT OFFERED ANY." His eyes bulged*
Ckal screamed, "Food!"
"That's right, sustenance and succor!Thank you for participating in my protest sir!"
Sabatra mutters, more to herself. "One cannot reason with the Red Wizards..."
"Spread the news please." Dave called out.
"You're doing great! I will! Food!" Ckal oints at the door.
Dave chuckles, then continues to blow on the horn. "Come out and answer these 11-12 questions I have ready to be issued!" The shocking horror-struck sound of that clarion soaring in volume and pitch and fury towards the Thayan Enclave. "I will not back down one inch til you answer my questions."

Rumors spread like a flame unleashing death and despair that Ameris Santraegar and Dave Counterpunch are teaming up, to stop the contruction plan and set up a Rally to Restore Justice, and weaken Thayan influence within Baldur's Gate.

The Highcoin Festival

Image
Word travels that the Highcoin celebration in the Palace District was a great success. Many of the city's wealthiest and most influential citizens were wined and dined at the White Mask Theater, and entertained by masterful performers.

The charity event, at first estimate, is believed to have raised upwards of 100,000 gold danters. These monies, it is said, will be used to fund Spheres.

Little is known about this second festival, the festival of Spheres, but rumors from Amn (where it is far more widely celebrated) suggest that it involves money raining from the sky, granted to the poor and the desperate so that they may purchase food, clothing, and opportunity!

While those who attended the first feast left sated and content, the second part of Waukeen's holy celebration, the giving of the coins thus raised, is likely to be felt by far more people in the fortnight to come.

An elven druidess makes a rude return among the population of Baldur's Gate. Not only does she antagonize the local head of the Elder Circle she even accuses a member of the Theater to be a traitor and murderer.
She only stays for the performing acts and gives some gold to the charity. After that she walks briskly away.

From dock and between warehouse, from jail walls to open plaza fair, the soothsayer of the coming storm sings his particular spoken word to the people. His drum in hand, in the background he manipulates into being an undulating beat...such that touches the deep pulse of the living heart, such that it may feel the truth....

  • Beware...
You, the salt of the sea
    The salt of the earth
To the chains that rain from the sky.

    Beware...
You, true souls of life's hardship
    The true souls of pity
To the chains that WILL rain from the sky.

    Hark...
They, the privileged of the garden of favor
The privileged that pledge help but from behind walls
Are united to keep you down in place.

    Hark...
They, of fancy dress, dressed hair, fine food and drink
The finery of fine that is made off your backs, and then some
Will bind you via satiation of false gifts.

    Eyes open...
You, must see what their walls protect you from seeing
That their walls grow each day, stone by stone higher
In fear they protect what they will not openly share

    Eyes open...
You, must take fist against fist
Must see the fist as stronger than the wall
Before it is built higher than your reach is capable.

    Smiling lies...
They, skilled in theater beyond theater
Using mockery of the real life to hide true life failure
Think they are beyond the common people.

    Smiling lies...
They, close the circle small and insidious
Close the circle, the coterie, against the commons
Such that they even lie to each other as daily as bread.

    Rise...
You, hold the simple truths in true knowing
The simple mind knows the simple soul
That reaches deeper faith than your oppressors

    Rise...
You, have seen the failure to protect you
The failure to save your lives, and now direct suppression exists
And more will rain from the skies....

    You, beware.
    They, hark.
    You, eyes open.
    They, smiling lies.
    You, RISE....

The performance is often, sometimes words change, but the message remains clear to those that strive for a change against the odds.
The One Truth Is: All Things Perish Over Time . . . all except I.
