The Church of Mystra RP

[Tsidkenu]

After some delay, Priestess Aeili enters the temple after having been out in the farmlands stargazing. She immediately notices the two familiar faces and then looks intently at the feathered one.

"Oh dear!" she exclaimed and moved to approach them so as to ascertain precisely what has happened.

[Tsidkenu]

After being told by Ivan that Sparrow had been -befowled- Aeili would have taken the rather timid bird into her private chamber and fed it elven bread while she spent the remainder of the evening memorising as many Mage's Disjunction spells as she could manage, to be used the following day in an attempt to abjure the enchantment's effect. Unfortunately, the following happened instead.

The chicken is initially timid, but attempts to move it into a confined space will turn it into a terrified whirlwind of feathers fleeing away from anyone trying to approach, and prone to biting, pecking, and clawing anyone daring enough to get within range.

Only the fact that it lacks opposable thumbs keeps the frantic fowl from escaping a room with a properly closed door, but it doesn't stop whatever else is within the abilities of sufficiently panicked poultry.

After restoring the lady to her humanity and several hours of watching the downcast and mistrusting woman during several attempts at conversation, four figures leave the temple. One garbed in blue departs off up the street and enters Sorcerous Sundries. The chill patter of winter rain masks the sound of crying which was emanating from Halbazzer's upstairs laboratory thereafter.

[Tsidkenu]

A very distraught and exasperated blue-robed priestess is seen walking quickly along the street leading away from Sorcerous Sundries, distressed and in tears about whatever caused the fire in the upstairs laboratory. After entering the Temple of Mystra she knelt before the altar and wept for a very long time.

Later in the day a dark cloaked and armoured man came by the Temple to check on the progress of Aeili's divination work for him. He was met by the priestess crying and almost out of her mind. She spoke of a voice, the sound of the hells itself. He tried to reassure her with the use of her own Elven tongue but she ended up falling on her knees before the altar of Mystra and entered a trance-like state. She remained there for much longer than the usual four hour reverie until she was disturbed by High Priestess Neela who managed to persuade her to go to her room to eat and rest.

[Miasmata]

Eldarian can be seen quietly entering the temple of Mystra.

After a respectful bow and a few kind words passed Eldarian hands over a note to High Priestess Neela that boasts the seal from the Song of the Morning.

He exits shortly after.

After hearing of Telia's death from Aeili, Laitae stays in the temple of Mystra. There she aids Neela and Aeili in whatever tasks they set her to.

A letter is delivered for Priestess Aeili bearing the sigil of Ilmater.

Aeili takes the scroll and enters her study to read it over. After her sixth re-reading she opens her door and calls for Laitae, beckoning for her to enter.

After what have been a rather difficul couple of tendays, Priestess Aeili looks alive with hope and joy. Putting aside those things which have weighed on her mind of late the petite elven woman put all her focus and energy into performing a religious ritual of great importance.

The temple flowed with visitors and after they had all been welcomed in the ceremony commenced. A raven-haired woman was sworn in by oath to be joined to the temple's number of faithful. After the swearing in ceremony a mystic ritual took place which filled the entire temple with radiant magic: wafting blue arcane fire enveloped the altar and the woman who was lain upon it. All in attendance gaped in awe at the resplendent display of magic as the woman levitated above the altar, floating through the interior of the temple with an expression of indescribable ecstasy drawn upon her fair features.

An immense aura of magic lingers in the temple still and the guests and participants slowly filtered back out through the doors, some departing to other matters while others made their way to the Elfsong Tavern courtyard for a festive celebration. Spirits were indeed high in the aftermath of this mysterious ritual.

An open letter is left with the priests in the Temple of Mystra. It is requested that any Mystran paladins who visit the temple have their attention drawn to it.

Righteous of the Coast

A new undead menace to all the goodly folk has revealed itself within the Vaults in the Field of the Dead, a skeletal champion warded in golden metal. Instead of outright killing its foes and reanimating them, it uses dark magic to turn them into its unwitting agents that might spy on the land and other righteous organisations. Its exact motives are unknown, but we worry that they will affect the Sword Coast at large.

We had hoped to write this letter with a mind to call the righteous together into a host, composed of many orders and faiths, but one intent - to come together to crusade in fervour, and render holy judgement on this one of the myriad threats that plague the lands.

To remind us all that we are not alone in our service. And to come together not as a series of isolated candles. But as a great, purifying flame.

Whatever lays within the depths, whether lich born of man or draconic, or the golden revenant itself, must be met head on. The evil within the vault must be subjected to righteous judgement. It must be put down for the good of the innocents under threat. It must be illuminated by the unfettered dawn.

It is our hope that you will join together with us under the banners of your Orders and Faiths, so that we may march together to end this menace.

And we pray such holy resolve will spill over into further joint efforts of this nature.

////Hi! We are hoping to run an RP event whereby we get a bunch of holy types together to do some faith RP and, as well, put some hapless undead to the sword!

While we are going to run the RP by the DM team it is likely to be a player driven event only, but the aim is for the various goodly characters on the coast to get together and do something fun.

Once we have an idea of the PCs interested we will set a date. We are thinking a weekend will likely be best, in GMT evening.

A young woman wearing maroon robes and with short black hair visited the Temple of Mystra. Anyone familiar with her, would have recognized her as the Mystran follower Telia Navra. She laid out three scrolls on the altar; a Ray of Enfeeblement, Cause Fear and Animate Dead. These were all offerings to Mystra; for her to take back some of the magic she has blessed people with. Telia would let Priestess Neela know that the scrolls were all given to her by someone else who worried they were evil and that she had promised to see them taken care of. She explained to Neela that she was not quite sure how to explain that not all spells from the School of Necromancy were evil but that she hoped to bring the person who had given her the scrolls around to the Temple of the Lady of Mysteries some day.

Telia then watches Priestess Neela utter the incantation which makes the altar burn with blue fire. The scrolls are all being consumed. The sorceress smiles and then kneels at the symbol of Mystra once the blue fire has died out. She bows her head and speaks a quiet prayer. There is a sincerity in this. When the words have been said and her lips move no more, she spends some time just basking in the magical light of the eight pointed star before she stands. She bids Priestess Neela farewell and promises to return in the coming days to check on the Temple of the Lady.

Telia returns to the Temple of the Lady of Mysteries a day later. This time, she has no offerings. There is sadness in her expression as well as anger. She sits at the front pew with a lowered head. There is no uttered prayer from her as she sits on the bench but she appears to be deep in thought.

After time passes, she looks up at the large holy symbol of Mystra.

The previous emotions have been replaced by some kind of determination.

Laitae stays much in the temple of Mystra these days, doing whatever Neela and Aeili asks of her. For the most part, she helps writing scrolls and simply doing chores around the temple. She can often be seen mopping the floor or cleaning the benches. She always appears cheerful while inside the temple.

[Tsidkenu]

Priestess Aeili would be most notably absent from the temple this week. The faithful were instructed about some of the circumstances of her most recent journey and she advised High Priestess Neela that she expects to return before the combined effort to combat the undead forces in the north.
