best weapon for druid

What is the best weapon to use for a druid? Just trying to hear some insight?

Anything that can be worn with a shield, really. My druid has a sling. It's not like you're going to be using weapon much anyways.

If you play an (Half -)Elf go with Longswords and Bows. Or Scimitars.
If you are a Gray Orc, go with Greataxes or Scimitars and Longbows.
If you are a small race (Halfling/Gnome) go with Sickle and Sling.
If you are a Dwarf, get a Dwarven Waraxe.

Also don't underestimate Slings. You can use them with Shields and you get the full STR bonus to damage.
Someone with 16 (without spells or items) STR can do 1d4 + 3 (5 average damage) with a Sling.
Better than a mundane Longbow 1d8 (average 4 damage).

The only problem is the critical multiplier but rarely would a Druid focus on criticals. Rangers do that.

That's very insightful. Did not know that about a sling. That will come in handy while making my sniper rogue.

Thrown weapons are generally underestimated. They can be stupidly effective. Particularly slings, there's that one bullet type that does an extra 1d6 damage. You're practically hurling great clubs at people.

That said mechanically speaking Scimitars are probably the best druid weapon. Would still rather rock a club though myself. Nothing makes me feel more awesome than bashing monsters with a shillelagh or whatever you spell it. Frankly the game doesn't do them justice - a heavy or, worse, lead loaded cudgel in the right hands was a truly devastating weapon.
