Does Epic spell Mass Fowl destroy all items on NPCS?

Is it true in bgtscc?

If it does, why would anyone risk using it on NPCs, ever?

It may destroy items that a DM has put on the NPC, for example so that player characters might find them. I do not believe it destroys loot bag items. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

loot is generated after death, so it shouldnt matter no

but items that can drop off, maybe? most items are set to not drop anyway
