Bane spell how it works

Unread post by Calodan »

Hey quick question. I have been using Bane for my FvS as a aura spell and extended but how exactly is it implemented here? I know you can target your PC to have on you like a aura spell but does it work from transition to transition? What is up with it?

bane is the evil version of bless, would work the same way, so any in the area at the time its cast

which in turn does not make it particularly useful for grinding but ok for a boss fight i suppose
everyone is evil till proven otherwise

I thought it was an AoE curse type spell. All foes in AoE must make a will save or get -1 AB, -1 save vs. fear for 1 turn per caster level. It's the opposite of bless, yes, except there is a will save to avoid its effects.

Bless is not an AoE aura. It's an "on cast" spell that affects those in its (huge...) radius for the duration.

And so is Bane.

Interesting. Okay so the fact you can cast on self with it is just so you can have a center around you to curse peeps? Pretty cool if you ask me just did not understand how to implement it. Thanks guys and gals. :D

It's like the fact you can cast Greater Fireburst only centered on yourself so that you can roast peeps in a radius. You cast it on yourself, but that does not mean you want it to affect you.

Several spells work this way.

Like what was said before... better on the boss-ish types of fights, or if things are going awry... since the effects are only applied to those in the cast radius.
