There are rumors of Director Herran Hymns return, from where though, as of yet there is no word.

There are coinciding rumors of "massive forests" made of theater props popping up not only inside the theater, but outside and even in the middle of Baldurs Gate itself.

Advertisement for upcoming event?

or just some form of madness?

none seem to know, or if they do, few words are whispered as to what and why.

Herran is seen slung over the shoulder of a monk, carried from the Ilmatari temple to the White Mask Theater.

Telia accompanies the pair, conversing with the monk as they go.


asleep? ... too many drinks? ... hit with a falling tree prop? .... rumors abound, changing with each passer-by.

*Herran wakes before dawn, going to the door, he finds he is locked in his own room. Warding himself fully he walks over to the fire and sits, then reaching one hand into the fire he fiddles with the golden ashes as they gather on the bottom of the fireplace.

a face?? can be seen in the ashes.*

A key in the door turns and Telia comes inside with a tray of food consisting of fresh fruit and some bread with ham and cheese. There is no cutlery in sight.

She places the tray on a side table and worriedly looks at Herran to see what his mental state is like.

*He removes his hand from the fire turning to the now opening door and smiles at the one who enters* Telia! please .. do come in. oh! now that looks good enough to eat! *chuckles lightly*

I swear ... I seem to have lost my keys ... among other things.*he sighs deeply* You know how embarrassing it is to lock yourself in your own room?

Anyways, good to see you my dear .... as always. Tell me ... *his face suddenly draws into a look of consternation* Weren't we supposed to be preparing for some kind of up coming event? .... like summer solstice?

It would seem the half? crazed Director has been missing from the theater once more. Any who would inquire as to his whereabouts, would be referred to the Ilmatari Temple, in an upstairs chamber.

While it seems director Herran has been carried off to the Ilmatari Temple, bound and gaged, the Theater does not remain idle. Both assistant director Nea, and former assistant director Telia continue to produce and or run activities and festivals. For no matter the circumstances.

About a dozen people converge on the theater and lock themselves inside.

An hour passes ... two? ... then there is a continuous burst of magical energy inside as the casting begins, flashes of light shine and shimmer through the theaters windows to the outside. Play rehearsal? effects trials? rituals of some cult?

After another long passage of time people emerge from the theater, seeming to be in high spirits.

Director Herran is rumored to be once again in his room resting from some horrendous ordeal.

Cured? dieing? or simply a change of scenery from wherever he has been for the last cycle of the moon. Rumors once again spread ... and change .. from each one doing the telling.

Any who ask Karl get the same answer though. The director is resting in his room. You will need to talk to Assistant Director Nea, or Telia regarding any theater business.

The priest Ameris is seen regularly at the theatre these days. While he discharges his duties daily at the temple, and resumes the home visits that were his custom until his period of absence earlier in the year, each evening his path takes him to the White Mask. It appears he might be staying there overnight.

Herran once again is up and around. While his spirits are high and he seems to be his old jovial self, he is constantly yawning and his eyes reflect the fact that he is apparently getting little to no rest.

When not at the theater, he goes fishing in Ulgoths Beard. Every night, however, he returns to the theater at dusk.

For the few who have access to the backstage area of the theater it would appear that Telia locks the bard in his room each night, not letting him out until morning. When any go near the door to his room, they hear shuffling of feet and rattling of his doorknob.

Telia does indeed keep a close eye on Herran but tries to avoid being a hen-mother. Even so, there are some worried Sendings sent if Herran is not back at just the right time each eve.

During the day, the sorceress can be seen about the city, lingering at the Shelf of Many Books and also at the patio at the Elfsong. Most of her time however, is spent in the Theater. Both the tones of a lyre and a mandolin can be heard, as well as snippets of songs. It would seem that she is practising, perhaps for the Masquerade Ball about to take place.

During nearly a tenday span at or near the Elfsong Tavern, Herran and several others can be heard discussing curses, witches and even killing a witch.

Near the end of the tenday Herran can be heard humming a tune. The song is hauntingly beautiful, the kind of song that rolls through your memory and is hard to get rid of once it is there.

Finally one eve Herran belts out the tune at the top of his lungs, and standing from his stool begins walking. Incoherent he goes bumping into objects and people with no apparent direction in mind. Shirtza teleports away with Herran in an attempt to calm the bard once more.

The next day several gather in the theater Ameris, Telia, Rose, Luke, Fingal, Reine, Shirtza and of course the once again calm Herran. As evening nears again Herran begins humming that same song once more and gaining his feet begins to walk away, this time however, it would seem with purpose.

The others decide to follow in the hopes that Herran is now drawn to the witch responsible for the curse, so that they may kill her and rid the poor bard of the final curse still remaining on his soul.

Once they enter the forest the bard hesitates, seeming drawn in two different directions. He turns towards the direction of the song hanging in the air, most of the bards in the group now hearing the song as well.

After fighting through forest spirits, they finally arrive at a mushroom circle, where they are approached by a dryad and a fey. Upon answering their riddle? ... a magical music box is left.

They are told the song was stolen from the now witch, who was so long ago a Lliiran traveling through the forest who failed their riddle and now spent her days trapping and cursing travelers along the trails.

With the box the group confronts the witch and show her the music box. The witch is stunned by the appearance of the box and demands its return, where upon Herran opens it and the song flows forth. A song of happiness, one that brings a fuzzy kind of joy to any who hear it played.

The witch collapses and Herran is suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling he had not felt in so long he had all but forgotten. He was free ... free of a curse he had born from the time he had first arrived outside Baldurs Gate.

The witch lay there ... the fog that was all but choking the forest lifted ... the trees ended their groaning and the air itself grew light. Was the witch cured as well?

Herran insists they bring her back to the theater so she can recover ... she was after all once a Lliiran .. the same as he ... and Rose. They do bind her hands then lay her upon Herrans bed with a Lliiran broach near by for her to see when she wakes.

She is then left to her rest, being watched 24 hours a day in shifts, by those who journeyed to the forest to -kill- her.

A magically animated broom, referred to as Bridebroom, is seen sweeping the area backstage. It would have arrived as the witch did, in the Theater. Telia has left word of it to be guarded, jesting that she overheard several speak of wishes of owning such a broom.
