There is SO much gold in circulation, I doubt it would ever be made a possibility. I don't really have much time either, and so have very little gold compared to some.

BY is not now nor has it ever been a pay to win scenario. We do not accept cash payments for any type of advantage. This would open to many issues for the team.

Yeah because making a dying game Play to win will surely invigorate the community......I do think that the quest system should just get borked and we get the amount in bonus XP per week instead.

On a side note you can trade XP for XP any day........

The focus of the server has never been mechanical benefits. Exp, gold, items...
It's a roleplay server. That's what our DMs work with and it's foremost in mind for our builders.

There are lots of legal things that come with real money trading. Beyond that, it's not an effective means for representing our interests.

The server isn't going to become Pay to Win. It runs on donations (which we've disabled because the playerbase is very generous beyond the means it takes to run the server). You can read about it here.

Also, you can pay GP for consumables, and then get XP by grinding like a boss.

Whenever I party with low levels, they never use potions or spells, sometimes even if I give them some. They have no idea how powerful a low level can be with powerful potions.

For example, a potion of improved mage armor lasts for hours, makes it as if you are wearing a +6 plate. Use a potion of spiderskin, and you got another long lasting +4 natural armor. It is as if you are in post epic gear. Now, run around, kill gibberlings, or goblins, (they have no dispelling casters, and these potions are too expensive to risk dispelling).

I would like to remind everyone that the Neverwinter Nights 2 game is owned by Atari, which we are using to host a server.

Non-profit donations are acceptable, as they all go into upgrading/maintaining the server and paying its fees, mostly paying its fees, but older players may remember when we upgraded the server. Because of the nature of the donations, that is, we are not -selling- anything with them in any sense of the word, we are clear of legal trouble.

However, if we started advertising boons and various rewards for cash, be it XP, events or tiny cosmetics, Atari would rightfully peruse legal action against Luna and the staff for profiting off their trademark without a rightful licence.

The above is not the team's answer, but I believe it's generally the go-to answer. And to think about it, WoTC already want people playing Neverwinter Online instead of a game they make almost no money off.

Tl;dr: Wouldn't be worth it from a legal standpoint.
