Deity: A'tar, Ela, Kozah, N'asr, and Shaundakul. Scholars, however, agreed that these deities were in fact Faerunian pantheon of Lathander, Selûne, Talos, and Beshaba.

Background: Zai'ir, born of the tribe Yethtai, his family often spent time away from the tribe exploring the desert and its many ruins. His mother, descended from the Netherese, often took pride in her heritage and passed it down to her only son. To honor her, his father scoured the ruins for any Netherese artifacts that he could present to her. As Zai'ir grew up, his father taught him how to fight and survive in the desert while his mother passed on her knowledge of Netheril. When he reached adulthood, Zai'ir's father took him out to investigate what he believed to be a Netherese ruin. As they left the ruins, a group of what they believed were soldiers ambushed them. They killed his father and took him captive.
The soldiers took Zai'ir west to a keep outside Waterdeep. While they ate and drank, he managed to slip out of his bonds and crush the skull of the one guarding him. Before others came to check up on him, he fled under cover of darkness. A few mornings later, the young man was picked up by a merchant caravan heading towards Baldur's Gate. Not sure what to do, he decided to follow them, offering to serve as its guard. Seeing how different life is outside the Anaurach Desert, he decided to see some of the world before returning home.
Goals:Return to his mother, find Netherese artifacts, destroy those that killed his father
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: For plot hooks, the men that took him could try and find him to exact revenge or retake him, or he could possibly seek out his mother for Netherese information. She is far from a scholar, but she is a descendant. Zai'ir can only speak Midani and understands Netherese, though he has difficulty speaking it. He does not know common, as he never had a reason to know it.
